Baby Swap with fastpass

Have to admit never having heard of this - despite many stays at BWV. Honesttly I guess I really don't understand what your saying since the CM's typically honor the fast pass after the window anyway.

Are you saying you took unused FP's (the only kind you would have since they take them from you upon use) back to the resort and got new fast passes?

Basically yes...

Ok - I was really looking for more of an explanation. As a DVC owner who has visited the parks 3+ times per year I think I should have heard of this. Can you please explain what you did with your unused fast pass and where and then what benefit it got you?

I can't imagine the DVC resort cm's have access to a fast pass ~

Are you a DVC member or did someone just tell you this?

Sorry i wasnt to clear....like i said above...we meet DVC family on their last day...they gave us the tickets, and told us they had changed in there unused fast pass tickets for the tickets he gave us...I didnt know if they would be valid so i asked the BW front desk...She confirmed what the DVC family said...That if they are not used they could be changed out...As i'm not a member i've never tried to do it myself...but they worked ....Sorry i dont have more information...For us it was just a nice perk a family gave us...

Hmmm...We are DVC owners at the BWV and will be there in 59 days (and counting) :woohoo: I will have to ask about this 'perk' It sounds too good to be true.

As per the Fast Pass/Baby Swap... Does everyone need to have a Fast Pass to get a Child Swap Pass in the Fast Pass Line? Can DH just have 1 FP for him and still get a Baby Swap pass for me to use later (even if we did not get a FP for me?)

Child swap and Fastpass are two totally separate issues.

You decide if you want to ride via standby or Fastpass. Meanwhile you go to the entrance to the ride and find the CM working at the entrance. Tell him you'd like to do child swap and see what they say.

They 'usually' will give the special child swap Fastpass (that's good all day for up to 3 guests). Some rides do have you swap at the exit or all go in the line together and swap at the ride. That is why its always best to ask first.

What we usually do as a family of 4, with a little one that doesn't like many rides, is get 4 Fastpasses and then DH and older DD ride and then I ride with older DD. We make our own swap system with Fastpass. This is a good way to handle rides your child is old enough to ride but doesn't want to.

If we do get the child swap pass then we only get 2 Fastpasses and my DH and older DD use those Fastpasses and then I'll use the child swap pass later for myself and my older DD. Then maybe while they are riding first, I'll go get 2 Fastpasses (with the other to park passes) for another ride to use for younger DD.

Hi Laura  Thanks for explaining FP with Child Swap for me... I have read other posts saying that everyone needs a Fast Pass to get a child swap pass so I appreciate the clarification. I know you know what you are talking about...

Okay, maybe I'm really tired and that's why I'm not getting this. :confused3 I didn't realize that you could not use the child swap for kids who were tall enough, but still too scared for the ride. So, I've got a ds6 and a dd2 - will dd2 qualify us and all four of us go together with one of us riding at a time and neither kid, or would each of us have to wait in line separately - because I KNOW by the time we go ds will be tall enough - and really, there's only a couple that we would want to ride, but I know he won't go.

Tammy1210: I'm too tired as well!!! I was hoping I'd be able to switch off during our upcoming trip...but from the sound of it I don't think so!
I have a 10 y/o dd that just doesn't enjoy the coasters. Last year at Disneyland, she was going to try space mountain...but when we got to the cars to get in...she just couldn't do it, so the CM let me stay with dd while my hubby and son went on, then let me and son go on while dh stayed with dd. Maybe we'll get lucky, otherwise we'll have to do the fastpass switching.

Good Morning! :wave2:

As long as you have one child under the height requirement, they will give you one of the child swap passes (if that is how the ride handles child swap; some just have you swap at the ride or swap from the exit). So, tammy1210, you should be fine since you have a 2 year old. The child swap pass is good for up to 3 people.

If your child IS tall enough to ride what they'll tell you is you all have to enter the line together and then swap at the ride itself. They don't issue the child swap pass for those who meet the height requirement.

So if you have an older child (like me) you can either enter the line together and swap at the ride or you can get Fastpasses and take turns and swap that way (that's what we do with our 6 year old who is afraid of ToT and Splash).

I hope this helps.
