We will be travelling with a group, total of 14, a few of which are little kids/baby. Im trying to plan how rides will work as the littles wont be able to go on some rides, and I know the adults will want to do a few adult rides. Is there a thread all about baby swap? I recall using it myself when our kids were younger, but Im unsure if we can use it as a group so large, or how it works as its been a while.

You’ll need to scroll to the first post in the link above. That has the link to the graphics page.

The graphic explains how rider swap was done before it went digital. The process is just a little different now since the rider swap is put on magic bands and you no longer deal with paper passes and lanyards.

Basically, the whole group approaches the CM outside the line and tells them that you need rider swap. They will usually ask to see the too short kid (and if they look to be close to the min height, they may ask to measure them. For babies and little ones that are obviously no where near the min height, they won't measure). Then they will ask who will be riding in Group 2 so they can add the rider swap to those people's magic bands. Up to 3 people can ride in Group 2 and it can include up to 2 riders from Group 1, so if you have one person waiting back with the little one(s), they can get the rider swap added along with 2 people who will be riding the first time. Then Group 1 rides while the too short kid and accompanying adult(s) do whatever they wish (get a snack, ride another ride, etc). When Group 1 is back, those who have the rider swap will enter the FP line and the rider swap added to their magic band counts as a FP.

Group 1- Those who will be riding first
Group 2- At least 1 adult waiting back with the too short kids, along with 2 others who will get rider swap added to their magic bands and ride second.

With a large group, if you have multiple kids that are too short to ride and will have more than one adult waiting with those kids, you can split up. For instance, if there are two little ones and two adults will be waiting back with them, go up to the CM in 2 different groups. The first group of 7 for instance would include baby, adult waiting with them, and five riders riding first. The waiting adult and 2 of the 5 others would get rider swap added. The first 5 would ride and then the 3 with rider swap.

Meanwhile, right after the above people get rider swap added to the magic bands, the second group of 7 (including baby, adult waiting with them, and 5 other riders) approaches the CM and asks for rider swap. The same thing happens as above, with 3 people getting the rider swap added to their magic band. Again, the first 5 ride (and should be in line with the other 5 riders from the first rider swap grouping), then when they get back, you have 6 people who have rider swap added to their bands who can then ride.

Separating into multiple rider swap groupings can be helpful especially when you have older kids who want to be able to ride with each of their parents, but one parent needs to be waiting with the baby/too short child. Hopefully this all makes sense.
