Hi folks,
We're taking our 9 month old to WDW this summer. (We took our other boy when he was 22 months). A few queries:
1. What baby food / milk can we take on the plane (VA)?
1. What baby food can we take in to the US?
2. What food supplies can we take in to the parks?

Thanks

Last September (11th to be exact ;)) we took bottled formula which I had to taste and jars of heinz food which I also had to taste :P

We took a further 12 jars wrapped in socks and 2 cardboard tubs of formula (cow and gate rather than the usual SMA) in suitcases as we worried two metal tins of powder would look suspect lol

We could take anything we wanted into the parks for the baby and they didn't care about plastic bottles of pop and water for us for that matter.

Hope that helps. DD was 9 months when we went in September and she had an ace time. Hope you have fun.

Hi

Our DS was 10 months old when we went last year

1. What baby food / milk can we take on the plane (VA)? We took enough formula and food for the plane, I was also still B/f him so if I ran out of milk I had no trouble. We did order a child's meal and DS eat some of the mashed pot and veggie's.

1. What baby food can we take in to the US? We took a few of the 10m+ meals with us, but none with meat in as they say you cannot import meat. and We took a tub of formula.

2. What food supplies can we take in to the parks? What ever you want to take, no restrictions at all.

You can buy baby food and bowls, spoons and formula, bottles, diapers wipes etc in the parks too in the First Aid locations indicated on each park map. The one in the MK is really good they even have rehydration drinks and the staff are really helpful and friendly there's even somewhere to heat the milk or food if you child likes it warm and seats for mum and dad to get a rest too.You could even find a few outfits in there for little ones if they spill something down their outfit:thumbsup2 The CMs keep the place very clean too.
You can get daipers and baby food and formula at lots of supermarkets and some pharmacies if you stay in an off-site hotel :goodvibes

When we went we were told that milk powder was fine but any real food was not. Might have changed since 2004. Obviously I know the on-flight hand luggage has changed but we physically had to destroy baby food before entering immigration.

We didn't see it anywhere to be honest but only really checked Walgreens, Publix and Walmart.

I'm not sure it's a brand they use.

We went last oct when DD was 5mths old.

For the flight, we took cooled boiled water and pre-measured powder sachets. We also took some baby food jars, which we used during the flight. If you don't use all the food jars, you can't take any into the USA which contain meat. At gatwick security, we were made to taste the water in the bottles and take a small piece of food from each jar.

They do sell SMA in the USA it's called Similac, but I was worried that it may be slightly different, so I packed enough of the pre-measured powder in our suitcases to do the two weeks and it worked just fine. As for food, I usually make my own at home and supplement with the jars but in the US I just bought jars in supermarkets. You don't see the normal brands we'd recognise but a brand called Gerber seemed popular. They have a website so you could have a look and see what the ranges are.

As for nappies and wipes, they had Pampers etc so we just bought over there. I also found a fantastic nappy rash cream called Butt Paste! It's fantastic, I bought 4 tubes back...a little goes a long way and it stops it within a day or so.

thanks for that - when you take formula in your case is it in a tin or something else??? As someone mentioned above about not taking tins in???!!
