We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas later this week and next. Does anyone know if they have in room baby sitting services or a daycare facility?

The short answer is yes, Disney has child care centers at the Deluxe hotels, children must be potty trained and 4 years old. Cost is $11 per hour, meal included. For children younger than that, there are several non-Disney companies to choose from that provide in room babysitting.

FWIW, my kids stayed at the Cubs Den at WL years ago and loved it. They were disappointed when we came & picked them up

I think Disney can co-ordinate in-room babysitting. Not sure if they are Disney employees, or contracted out. We have not used it before.

I recommend the kids clubs, my DS spent this past Saturday night at Simba's Cubhouse (AKV) and loved it. Also they gave me a discount as a DVC member which was great.

we used the fairy godmother service a number of times when the kids were younger and it was great. we usually had the same woman every night for the trip and the girls loved them each time. they were usually very nice older women who brought toys and books for the girls and took good care of them while we went out for dinner. a bit pricey but worth it if you want a full night out.

there is another service that disney recommends that i'm sure is good as well. not official disney services but i'm sure they check them out very well.

search on disney world babysitting and i'm sure you will find more info

We used Kids Nite Out in May for our two little ones (4 and 1 1/2). They are contracted through Disney. I don't believe the other companies are through disney. We paid around $100 for 5 hours of babysitting. (that included a tip too). It was well worth it in my opinion. We had a grandmother type woman and she was very nice. They will do activites with your kids and take them around the resort if you want them to. Ours just stayed in the room because I was worried since they are still very young.

I was VERY nervous about leaving them with a stranger but it was a good experience and will be doing it again in January.

Just to add, these clubs are only open in the evening to leave your kids while you have fun by yourself. They are not available during the daytime to drop off the children.

Some of the kids clubs do have afternoon hours, but only for parent and child activities. You can't drop the kids off by themselves.

We have also used Kids Nite out (www.kidsniteout.com) and were very pleased! our son was 10 months old and we were a little nervous (DW more that me!) but it worked out very well. We had a "motherly" sitter who had 2 young boys of her own and was great with our son. We will be using KNO again on our next visit in December :santa: . They also service VBR.

What kind of discount do you get as a DVC owner? Do you need set this up ahead of time or after checking in?

I'd have to pull out my receipt but it was a 15% or 20% discount, which they automatically applied when I picked him up and put the charge on my room key.
I did make a reservation for him a couple weeks ahead of time as it was a Saturday night (reserve through WDW-DINE), but it wasn't necessary as they only had a handfull of kids the night he went.
They give them dinner (choice of menu items) and a snack as well.

Sounds great! Thanks for the reply. I think I'll give it a try in December.
