Baby Play Areas

I've reading the various tips about traveling to DLR with an infant/toddler, but when a friend asked about grassy areas, I completely drew a blank. All I can think of are the fenced in areas at the end of Main Street. Does anyone know if there are any grassy areas where a baby (no longer a newborn) could roll around? We've trying to figure out where the baby (he may be crawling) could lie out on a blanket for some "out of the stroller" time during the day. Thanks!

There aren't really grassy park areas and I don't think you would want a young child rolling around in Disneyland. There are far too many people, strollers, ECVs, sharing the space. Too easy for a little baby to get hurt.

When I have traveled with a young child, we always took breaks and went back to our hotel during the day so they could get out of the stroller, nap, etc. We also took turns throughout the day holding them, so they weren't always in the stroller.

ETA: there is always the Baby Care Center if you need a quiet place to hold the baby, feed, change, etc.

I think Goofy's play area is the best place for your baby to crawl around or hang out on a blanket. It's not grass, but it's a soft play area where you can hang out.

Well, it isn't in the sun, but when we took DS at 6mo last year, we went into Disney Jr Live on Stage in DCA and he crawled around during the show. Loved the gold doubloons and the bubbles too! Plus it has a/c! DD loved the show, so it worked out.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I could think of places in WDW, but nothing in DL or DCA. We were hoping to avoid having to drive back to the hotel in the middle of the day. The kids are great at napping in strollers, but we hopping to find somewhere to give the little one some freedom.

Where is Goofy's Play Area? Is it near Goofy's house in Toontown?

Goofy's House has a "backyard" that is soft and has some play structures. It's soft and padded so it's good for crawling. You can go inside the house too, but I was mainly talking about the backyard area.

Not grassy, but you could lay down blanket:

• You could hang out in the center pavilion area/picnic area.
• On the street/curb before a parade (if baby is barely a crawler)
• A quiet nook in Innovations (is it still open). My walking/running toddlers played in one of the rooms for 20 minutes almost completely undisturbed.
• Big Thunder Ranch area, lay down a blanket off to the side. It was very quiet over there when we went in July. We even had Chip or Dale (can't remember) to ourselves for about 15 minutes (coloring together)
