I voted for Isabelle. Sounds so pretty and does not seem to be overused so far. Sorry to say this, but most of the names you have picked out fall into the "overused" category with the exception of Erica, it seems. But maybe it depends on where you live. Also, the spelling you have for Alysse just BEGS to be mispronounced--it makes me keep wanting to say "A-lis". Maybe it is the double "s".

I voted for Erica but I like it spelled Erika better. Erika and Hailie are my favorite girls names and they aren't overused.

I like Isabelle because it reminds me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I also love the name Ariel.

But I also agree that once you see your baby it will come right to you and it may not be the name you choose. John-Cole was going to be Hunter even though Cole was considered but the John in front never was, once he was born it just fit him to a "t"

Ooohhh, this is tough!! I absolutely LOVE all of these names!! I voted for Jessica, because if you ever get tired of saying "Come Here Jessica" you could say "Come Here Jessie...Jess.......Jessa" :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I also really like Erica. It is soooo pretty. I have a friend named Jessica and one named Erica (spelled Erika) and I LOVE those names!!

Also, have you considered combining any of the names??? My friend's younger sister is named Jerrica, and I also LOVE LOVE LOVE that name!!!! Have fun and Good Luck!!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I voted for Madison. Two of my other favorite girl names are Chloe and Amber.

The name Alysse is pronounced A-Lease

LOL! This is my best friends name, except she spells it Elise. But my brother thinks he's funny and calls her Rent. He's a dork...what can I say?

Anywho...

I picked Isabelle. Madison is a close second. Maybe go with Madison Isabelle XXXXXXXXX then you could call her either:hyper:

I picked Alysse because I love unusual names/spellings for girls. Maybe that is why my DDs are Ashlynn and Maiya! I do agree with the poster that said you will probably run into several of the same names in school. All of the names you have chosen are pretty popular these days. Of course, that doesn't make them any less beautiful!

Congrats on the newest addition to your family!!

PS. I am partial to Jessica for some strange reason! ;)

Madison is the number two choice of girls' names for 2003. That means that by the time your daughter enters school there will be many other Madison's around.

Elyse is very pretty. I think there would be pronunciation problems with Alysse.

I have a great niece name Kirsten, same problem with mis-pronouncing it. My brothers call her sister Jessica pronounced ja-seek-a so that she doesn't feel left out.

My oldest is named Kathlin and it is rarely pronounced right, she uses Kate she said she wouldn't mind using Kathlin but none of her friends can get it right either.

I like Alysse - haven't seen it as much as some of the others.

How about Johanna?
The others seem so trendy.

I voted for Amanda as that is my DD's name. She's 11 and only once has she had another Amanda in her class, that was in kindergarten. It's popular but doesn't seem overused at least around here.

I'm getting a little tired of all of the "made up" names in my son's class. He's in second grade and probably 10 out of 22 of his classmates have names that are obviously original and frankly I find them odd. Off the top of my head we have Canaan, Zaria, Ma'Lisa, Zakia, Jeronica, and Anders.

I voted for Alysse. I can't stand the names Amanda and Jessica. I grew up with so many of those and think they are way overused and just not pretty sounding. Isabelle reminds me of Mabel and similar names so that is out IMO. My personal favorites you don't list! I have an Emma and a Rachel in my house. Unfortunately when my girls turned one year old even those names became very popular too but at least I was the first to use them! LOL!

Wasn't Jerrica one of the names of the girls in that old cartoon Jose and the Pussycats? Now I'm really dating myself but I know someone has to remember that show! :p

Jessica and Amanda are very common names, I never wanted my kids to be one of many in the same school or classroom. I gave my first son a common name with an unusual spelling. I'm really regretting that decision now. I told him he could revert to the normal spelling, he said no that is okay, it is kind of late now. He is Jasen, so teachers refer to him as Jasen with an e. I did notice his name was in the paper, spelled Jason. He said he didn't correct the reporter! I like Isabelle, but it will be shortened to Issy for sure.

I voted for Jessica also. Madison is very pretty but EXTEMELY popular right now. She will be in a class with probably many other Maddi's.

That's really weird....my brother is Jasen also!!! It always manages to become Jason though (even on christmas cards from family members!)

It's really hard to choose without knowing the last name - I like to hear the sound of the whole name together. However, I picked Alysse. I might change the spelling to Elyse, but I think it's a beautiful name!

Good luck with your decision! :sunny:

I would have choosen Elise to (either spelling Elyse) but chose Isabelle instead!
