First, Congratulations!!

I chose Isabelle. Both Isabelle and Madison were on our girl list before we had DS. I LOVE Madison, but it has become way too popular.

Madison is the number two choice of girls' names for 2003. That means that by the time your daughter enters school there will be many other Madison's around.

Elyse is very pretty. I think there would be pronunciation problems with Alysse.

One of my kids names are finally in the top 100..
Shelby #75
Then I have twin girls - Darby & Delanie
an then Noah ( the brat)

Good luck picking names.. I have always like the unusual names.
But then they become trendy names..

BTW I pick Madison Isabelle..

I wanted to name one of the twins Victoria Belle.. Until my bf told me her nickname would be victory bell.

I chose Kirsten for obvious reasons, though we spell it a little different. We have had a few occasions when people have called her Kristen, but I only have to correct them once;) . Her middle name is McKenzie, and we've come across several of those lately, glad that isn't her first name! Tops on our list for our next one (girls names) are Madison (I know it's popular, but just so pretty!) ,Bailey, and Lindsey...

Good luck with your decision and Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone for their votes and responses.

To answer a few of the questions that I can remember being asked.

As for a middle name it truely depends on the first name. The last name is Ray. (Our user name should now be Raysplus3, 3 children).

The baby has a sister named Miranda, and all girl cousins Amber. Nicci, Emma, and Anna, so a lot of your names are already used.

The names our family voted for that were a tie are Kirste, Jessica, and Allysse.

Thanks again.:D :D :D :D

I voted for Kirsten, it's just my preference out of all those listed. Jessica would be my second choice. I agree with those who say the last name (and middle too) are factors...and also with the person who said sometimes it just hits you when you look at the baby!! :)

I think there would be lots of pronounciation problems with Alysse...I wasn't sure until reading the posts if it was Ah-liss or even Alice; or Ay-liss, Ah-liss or Ah-lees , all with the e on the end silent....or if you were pronouncing the e on teh end as "ah"! DD has a friend named Alyssa (Ah-liss-ah) which I like a lot.

I have a grandbaby named Madyson (yes, with a Y instead of an I) ;)
I have a niece named Elise (Ee-leese).
And I have a niece Jessica LOL !

Best of luck to you...you can't please everyone, especially family ;)...naming babies is so stressful!! Hard to be unique but not too trendy IMHO!

I voted for Alysse, I just love that name. When DH and I were trying to get pregnant, we thought we might use the name Annabella, as Isabella seems pretty common right now. We came up with Annabella after watching the Sopranos, and one of Tony's mistresses was played by Annabella Sciorra, who I think is just so pretty. Oh by the way, congratulations on the coming birth of your little princess:

I vote for Isabelle, I think it such a pretty name and very unique! I also like the name Madison and Lily.

Isabelle is beautiful but I think I'd make it Isabella. So pretty!!
Congratulations on your coming little girl! There is nothing better in the whole world than a little girl! Even my dad who wanted all boys had to admit that "little girls smell better and you get more kisses!!"

How anyone could name their baby Isobel, or Isabell, or however you wish to spell it is beyond me......

This is just a personal thing, but I tend to look down the track a bit............

Isobel/Isabell

Is a bell on a bike??

Do you see what I mean?

It's just that kids can be so cruel at times.:(

I too love the name Madison, but didn't vote for it. Your daughter will be one of about 5 Madisons each of her classes. That name is SOOO popular right now. I just counted 11 that I know under age 5.

P.S. Congratulations on the baby!

Thanks again to everyone who voted it looks like Isabelle is the true winner on this board.

We will keep you posted on the final name we come up with.

I just wanted to let everyone, who voted and responded, to know that our daughter was born Jan. 9 and weighed 8lbs. 1 ounce and is 19.5 inches long.

We named her Jessica Lynn. We had the names narrowed to 3 and we both looked at her and decided the name Jessica.

Mother and daughter are doing great.

I think that is a great choice. I voted for Isabelle, but I think Jessica Ray is a name that fits together well. And it is a common enough name that people won't mispronouce it but there shouldn't be too many other Jessica's in her class.

Congratulations!

I voted for Erica
Seems to me anyways every other little girl is named Madison
and I'm not to fond of names that are easily confused

** I didn't read all the way to the end. Congrats.
Welcome litte Jessica

I just saw this thread so I didn't get to vote. But had I been able to I would have voted for Jessica. I went to elementary school with a girl named Jessie Alice. I always thought that was a pretty name. And I've never heard the name Jessie used for a girl since.

Someone here mentioned name pronunciations and I would not worry about that. We named our 5th. and final child Kaitalyn-that is (Kate A Lyn), took MIL 6 years to finally begin calling her Katie, lol. All others, even the drs. office pronounce it correctly. I tried from very early on to correct people in a funny way and it worked! Even Kaitalyn at 3 would gently tell people my name is Kaitalyn not Caitlyn! Good luck with whatever you choose, those are all great names!

From one Jessica (although I am Jessica Anne) to another:

Hi :wave2: and welcome to the world Jessica Lynn!!
