I'll be in the World with my two kids (nearly 4 and 7 months at the time of the trip) and my grandparents. Is the kid/baby swap only for parents/parenting partners or is it for any adults traveling together?

And how, actually, does this business work? Any one have really good luck with it?

My mother (grandma) and I did it with my children.

it's for you and that person....five people can ride over again. the person who holds the baby swaps after the other person rides.

we used fast past last december because it was faster. you'll figure it out.
have fun.

This is not always true...we have a family of 6 and every now and then my youngest isn't tall enough and most rides they let ony 1 person ride again..the most they have allowed is 2.....

Lets sat mom wants to ride with the child, then dad wants a turn with the child. Is there any way to swap adults while the child rides again, or do you all have to get back in line?

I think it is set up so that parents with baby/toddler can ride the ride without getting back in line again.

Parent #1 rides while parent #2 holds baby. Ride stops, parent #1 holds baby and parent #2 gets on the ride.

If it is not busy they'll probably let the rest of the party stay on the ride, but during peak times they may limit the number riding.

I think if child wants to ride with each parent and there is no baby to watch then you will have to get in line again.

I was hoping that DH could ride with DS#1 while DS #2 waited(as the swapping person) and then DH ride with other DS. I will be taking the girls to breakfast while DH takes the boys on MS and TT in Epcot. But I think now that they'll have to wait for us or they will all have to ride together.

DH and I were there in April with our DS (1), MIL and SIL. When we did the baby swap we all took turns waiting with my son so they did allow "non" parents to use it. We were told up to three people could ride again using the child swap pass. I see from pp's that different people were told different things so I can't explain that. Like momxx5 said it probably depends on how busy they are at the time.

HTH!

I think it depends on the ride. At RocknRoller Coaster and Tower of Terror, we received Child Watcher passes. You get them at the beginning of the FP line when they check (or take?) your tickets. The ticket says up to 3 people can ride again. With the Child Watcher pass, the person waiting doesn't have to wait in line with you and the baby. It also allows an older child or two to ride twice, once with each parent.

We went with extended family in Mar and everytime it worked the same for us. One or two people waited with the little ones while the others went on the ride. Then one of the riders would switch and the rest and the original kid watcher would ride. My DD and I got to do BTMRR twice very quickly doing this. (Stood in the reg line with a 15 min wait with DH while MIL waited with little ones. Then went through the FP line with MIL with the baby swap pass while DH waited. That was basically how it worked each time on various rides.)

The system has been well explained. I just wanted to add that you should use this in conjunction with fast pass. And if you plan to baby swap make sure to get a FP for every one in your party that has a ticket, sometimes they ask for them.

in a case like this, it is very well outlined in the Unofficial Guide... i believe it's call "chuck bubba" or something like that... basically it suggests each parent getting on line separately (obviously the first parent takes the child w/him or her) and to count a set number (varies by ride, # provided in the UG) of people after parent/kid get in line and then parent 2 gets in line... just as parent2 is nearing the entrance to the ride, parent1 and "bubba" are exiting the ride, so parent 1 "chucks bubba" to parent2 and they can go on said ride... of course, you'll need to know how many people for parent2 to count off before getting on line...

hope this helps answer your question...
