Hi,

I am going to DLP for the first time in December with my husband, 7 year old daughter and 10 month old baby.

I am just wondering how widely available baby food/supplies are in the parks/hotels (we are staying at the Cheyenne).

Wondering whether I should just bring enough with me instead of worrying about it

Any help gratefully received.

Hi Rachel,

I first took my son when he had just turned 1 and whilst you can get food over there I'd recommend you take enough with you.

They definitely sell baby food in the Sequio Lodge so I'd assume the Cheyenne does the same, plus there are two excellent baby centres (one in each park) which also sell baby food. But as you'd image it's French baby food and if your baby is picky (and arn't they all) then it's best to stick to what you know.

The baby centres are great for changing nappies and feeding, and are very comfortable. They also sell nappies and other bits should you run out.

Anymore questions please fire away.

Thanks
John

I agree. I took DD last year when she was 11 months and took plenty of cans and tubs of food. She was just starting to eat proper food as well so that made it easier.

I would also suggest that you take enought nappies to cover the holiday. You could get Huggies at the SL shop but a small pack was more than a large pack back home. The other alternative would be to go to the hypermarket at Val D'Europe but I am not sure what types they sell.

Thanks for the advice on nappies - I think I will just take everything with me rather than worrying about it.

Did you take your own buggy with you or did you rent one ?

Rachel

Hi again,

I've always taken my own, the ones for rental are OK but not overly comfortable.

Always left it outside rides etc with no problems, plus the airlines have always been helpful in carrying it.

Once again, I agree.

We took our own buggy and never had any problems in the park. The rental ones do look quite uncomfortable.

A word of warning though. We flew into CDG with BA and had been assured by the check in person that we would be given our buggy back at the bottom of the plane steps. When we got off, some buggies were there but not ours. I could see it being off loaded so asked for it but was told that it did not have the correct label so it had to go to the baggage hall. This meant carrying DD onto the transfer bus and for what seemed like miles through the terminal to the baggage hall. It seems that the check in desk should have given us a special ticket to attach to the bugy for the ground staff to pull it off. We will know for next time!

Thanks Sue.

Unfortunately we are not flying but going on the Eurostar - I am sure they will be okay about buggies.

Rachel

If going by Eurostar, you really need to have an umbrella fold buggy - because you are supposed to put it up in the luggage racks, which was a bit of a juggling act. Also, if a common type buggy you may want to take something to attach to it to identify it as yours - so rides had over 30 pushchairs in the pushchair area, so a parasol or rain cover etc is handy as a method of identification. We found that the adult rain mac covered me and buggy when pushing it.

Thanks diamond57 - I had planned on taking an umbrella buggy just because I thought we may be restricted with luggage space on the train.
