Baby floats in Resort pools?

My baby was a whale that she sits in in our pool. She loves it & it has a shade on it & I would like to have her sit in it at the All Star pools. Anyone knows if this is acceptable?

Also, if we take rings to throw & have the girls dive to get them, will we be allowed to do this?

Basically, pool toys yes? Or pool toys no?

TIA!

I have personally never seen any of the aforementioned in a pool. The pools are always fairly busy, so it would be easy for them to get lost or stolen. As far as something for her to float on, well I don't know.......in my honest opinion, i'd say no.

The wale will most likely not be allowed. Floats like that make it too difficult for the life guards to see the water underneath them for distressed swimmers.

Yes and maybe no, ducklight is correct we do not allow mega floats for the reason stated, however, if its a typical size baby float most every lifeguard would allow that. Most baby floats do not interfere with lifeguard operations...big tires, big rafts, floating lounge chairs are the real problem.

We had a little "baby boat" like thing when my DS was about 9 months... Iasked the Lifeguard if we could blow it up and use it and he said sure. It was one of those 1,2,3 swim! boats.

BTW, this was at Poly.

Thanks everyone! It is just an ordinary sized inflatable baby float. She's only 5 months old & it fits her, so obviously it is pretty small. Plus, we hold onto it the whole time, it's just so we aren't trying to hold onto a slippery baby in a crowded pool. But I mentioned the whale part as it has this tail that comes up & shields her from the burning sun. Sorry this is so complicated, it really is a simple baby float & quite useful.

As for the rings, the girls don't dive from the side of the pool, I just mean dive down from the surface to the bottom. You know, like when we were kids with the penny? The more crowded, the more fun as it is super hard to find. If we aren't allowed, it doesn't matter but I don't want to bring them then.
Thanks for the info!

Now that is not a nice thing to say about your kid!! :rotfl2:

Just kidding of course. :)

Ha!! I totally missed that in my first post. I'm usually so careful. She is pretty chubby. Don't cha just love little chubby thighs? Little chubby smiles. Little chubby arms. :cloud9: But she isn't a whale. She does, however, HAVE a whale. Kind of.

Here she is trying on her parrot costume. That's right, NOT a whale, a parrot.

Awwww Shes a sweetie!

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

We had all kinds of pool toys last month at the quiet pools. Since there were no lifeguards around, it was not a problem. I don't remember if both All Stars pools had lifeguards or not.

Ok.....estherhead:) How was your cute little Chubby at birth? My cutie chubby was 10 lb 12 oz...so glad they figured this out prior to the onset of labor:) We are there in a few weeks, so in the same boat..lol:)

She was 8lbs. She's my third & they've all been 8lbs. NOT 10lbs 12 oz! :scared1: Good thing, too, as I'm an all natural girl, no drugs or nothin'. This baby I had at HOME! So I'm quite glad she wasn't a whale. Cause that seriously would have hurt. :rotfl2:

At the All Star Sports, my son played with these torpedo like toys in the pool and was never told anything. We have also played with splash balls in both storm along bay and the All Star Sports pool. I can no see why the rings would be a problem.

Have Fun!

The rings aren't the problem, the diving in after them is.

But they aren't diving in after them.

Sounds like you'll have a great time with your baby, whale, and rings. :thumbsup2

The same rule apply to the smaller "quiet pools", however those pools do not have lifeguards on duty until 4PM, so before 4 just about anything goes (good and bad) in the quiet pools, however, if a LG or security passes by the pool we're supposed to make sure the rules are being enforced.

With regards to diving, no diving is allowed on Disney Property but this refers to diving into the pool, head first in anyway from the side of the pool, there is no issue withregards to diving once you are in the pool. FWIW.

we have that exact same whale! we love it! not big at all, just a tad bigger than a small ring and smaller than those "tire" rings. My daughter loves those balls and squekies on front. we also always use it to hang onto and never leave her alone in it.

my older kids love diving for anything and usually make quite a few new friends when they bring along their dive sticks/sinking treasure coins/seashell shaped dive toys/etc. to any pool. we of course just toss them in and they swim around under water until they find them all, no actual diving involved. Usually turns into a very fun game for everyone around involving cheering on one team/one kid each time a new toss starts.

leaving the whale home this time as we will be at a zero entry pool and DD is 2 but dive toys are coming. I have a pic of the whale which I will post if I can figure out how to do that!
