Baby facilities in the parks.

Can anyone tell me their experiences? What exactly is in the baby rooms in the parks?

Not long to go now, getting a little nervous!

Don't worry there are nursing chairs, changing tables, nappy bins and all sorts of baby foods, formulas etc every thing you might need and the CMs are friendly and discreet i seem to remember there were some private quiet rooms too at MK. There are also things like rehydration drinks for babies and tots as well as plasters, creams and nappies, training pants etc.Everything is very clean cool and calm inside you can even let the little ones nap for a spell, it's been a long time since we used them but have heard they are still fab,if you need to use one and can't find what you need just ask a CM !!

Absolutely agree with what Wifey says!

I have used them most years since 2001 and find them a God send! They are a real oasis of tranquility! You dont need to stress at all about baby in the parks because all your needs are catered for in the baby centers! Everything is provided - bottle warmers, microwave, feeding bowls, spoons, washing up facilities and of course baby changing equipment and high chairs. There is a full kitchen, toilets and TV room. The staff are brilliant and will be on hand with any questions or queries.

Be warned that the baby center at MGM is tiny compared to the ones at the other parks, so its advisable if just one of your party go in with baby here. Also, strollers have to be left outside of all the centers, so make sure your valuables are easy to remove (we found a small rucksack ideal). Also, although very well stocked, the supplies are quite pricey - ideal for an emergency, but its better to bring what you need if you can (especially spare clothing - baby T shirts and shorts are about $12 each ).

My latest arrival will be 9 months when we go at Xmas and Im quite looking forward to visiting the baby centers again (DS1 was just a bit too old last year and I really missed them!!).

I agree with Wifey and Allie. I used the baby room at Magic Kingdom a few times and it was fabulous. Don't be nervous. I was nervous too travelling with a baby last year but it was great! We used a fan that attached to the stroller and it was a godsend. It's worth looking into if you don't have one. I think they sell them at Mothercare.

If you can get offsite there are some great shops at the Crossroads where you can buy baby supplies and Publix just next to Dolly's Dixie Land Stampede is really good price wise they have lots of nappies , bottles ,formula and sunscreen Walmart and Walgreens also have cheap buggies but if your own is an umbrella style one you should bring it with you (ours was priceless when DS was 11 months to 4 years we had a maclaren with rain cover which reclined a little)
I think Boots used to do packs of disposable bottles, if you want to take a few with you, have a look on their web site to see if they still stock them.Don't worry about taking your own formula as long as it's sealed it will be fine. Another vote too for the rucksack style changing bag it just slips under a buggy nicely and not too heavy to take out when needed, Don't forget the nappy bags and sun screen for little legs and feet that catch the sun very easily Good Luck

We didn't visit WDW until our DDs were past the baby stage, but we were introduced to the Baby Care / medical centre in Epcot when youngest DD became unwell in the park when she was about 13.

What a wonderful place it was! An absolute oasis of tranquility, and everyone was soooo helpful I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, based on our experience, and I'm sure the centres in the other parks are just as good (although smaller).

Theres plenty of facilities, as I am reminded each visit to epcot by my family. A few years back, I needed some minor first aid, a plaster or something, I cant remember now, so I went off to some building or other, and saw a door with "nurse" on it, so I went in.
I should have read the door more closely as it was actualy "nursing", and I was a tad embarrased when I walked in.

Our son was born on the 8th of this month and is going on his first WDW trip in July so he will still be pretty young!

Just one question though, will my husband and our 2 year old daughter be able to come in the baby centres too or do they have to wait outside?

Verity - have a great time and don't forget to post your tips when you get back! You can get disposible bottles in boots and tesco etc they are called steri bottles and they are really handy, they do disposible bibs too. Boots also do sterilising bags that hang on the back of the door. Ziploc bags are good too for storing dirty clothes or you can use nappy sacks as these are scented!

They can come in, no problem. Your 2 year old can use the toilet, get a cup of water and watch cartoons whilst you use the baby facilities!

The Baby Centre at MGM is very small, but there is a waiting area just outside the main section. It will still be fine for you all to go in if you need to -just your buggy will have to stay outside (and thats true of all the centres).
