Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Oh my goodness MeMom, I can't believe that happened and what you had to go through with that parent that was yelling at you.

People just don't appreciate how hard teachers work. :worship:

Ooooh! I've never gone into the Narnia attraction, cool!

Brooklynn is such a cutie with her sign language. :cutie:

I have never seen Marie! That is so cool! I wanna meet her....:guilty:

I work graveyard on the weekends and usually spend a lot of the time catching up on the DIS :surfweb: , hence my late night/early postings.

the bench hugger pic is adorable.

the POR/FQ pics are gorgeous. I loved seeing them again.

that is scary about the kid with the knife.

Aren't you driving down? can u do the report cards in the car? so u don't feel so much pressure.

declansdad - Your lovies come home tomorrow. Do you have the house straightened up, dishes washed, etc? Don't want Ma to come home and see her house looking like a bachelor pad!

Now why do you think it would be a mess??

The 1st two pics of Brooklyn are too cute.

We are creeping closer and closer to next Friday when we load up and head out. I will be driving the whole time as much as I love my mother, she drives like the 50 year old that she is and has terrible sense of direction. She once left one of Trent's basketball games headed home and ended up on the opposite side of town carrying her car bumper in the backseat. Today is my off day from work so while Brooklynn is at school I have been doing laundry all day and straightening the house so I just have to maintain it for the next week. As MeMom said we are hitting the terrible twos. Brooklynn can be so sweet and so rotten in the span of a few seconds. Oh well. We will get through.

As MeMom eluded she is very jealous of my October trip. One of my friends had planned on going with her husband and their 4 kids over fall break and she called to ask a few questions and mentioned we should go too. They are staying at Riverside and we are staying at FQ so we will be meeting up to do some stuff together, but also we will be having our own family time.

that is great that your friends are going and staying so close to you but yet far enough away. :)

I cannot believe Brooklynn being anything but sweet. she is so cute.

Those pictures of Brooklynn are too cute. I think I am still going through my terrible two's.. My poor mom...lol and boyfriend.
Jill... You are going to have so much fun in October.. (sorry Memom cannot go)
I cannot believe a third grader got taken away in handcuffs.. It is so scary what the world has come to. Yesterday, someone bombed an army recruitment station in timesquare. Thankfully noone got hurt, but to think... I used to work right there and there are so many people that could have potentially gotten killed.

declansdad - The answer to your question about my question is - because I have a pretty good idea of what my house is going to look like while I'm gone! I'm sure you are a much better housekeeper than my two boys are, though, so maybe yours wasn't quite as scary.

scottny - I will do double duty this weekend in order to avoid taking any schoolwork with me on the trip!

Lurrrvthe Duck - Any good words for teachers are appreciated. People don't stop to think sometimes what we really go through. If you took 20 kids home with you tonight, with the convenience of many rooms to put them in, lots of food and games to keep them busy, etc., you would probably still be insane by the end of the night, and you'd be very happy for the peace and quiet. Now, think of being in one room with them, no food or games, AND with the task of trying to make them settle in and pay attention long enough to learn something. It is a task not for the faint of heart!

twob4him - I don't know if people are staring at me or not. Most likely, they are! Maybe I should wear a shirt that explains myself. Something like,
I'm Memom, and I'm a Diser. or
Forgive me people, for I have a problem. It has been thirty minutes since my last Dising....

brittbritt - You'll love it, no matter what the season, but it was especially pretty at Christmas. I know I've never actually stayed there, but I think it is a very peaceful place, and I enjoy the atmosphere whenever I visit.
Oh, and the beignets.
I really enjoy the beignets.

snowbell
- What? You didn't like the picture?!?!? I'll try to get one this trip. I promise.
Yep, you only have to have the news on for about two minutes to know how many problems this old world has.

It was time to take the boat, or water taxi as it's called in these parts, to Downtown Disney.

This was our waiting spot.

These are the apples I was interested in!

I never buy one, but I alway look. Maybe I will do that this time.

I bought both the guys t-shirts here. Not Disney ones, because they wouldn't wear them, but just whatever name brands they had, and I can't recall exactly.

I thought briefly about buying myself a Christmas present.

P1130973.jpg

P1130974.jpg

but I didn't.

More walking around.

P1130975.jpg

Then we were off to All Star Movies.

P1130976.jpg

No, we didn't stay at All Star Movies. We were just visiting.

We really like to visit the resorts. Even the lowly (and we think lovely) values.

Back with more of All Star Movies soon.

/
the boys don't wear Disney shirts. :confused3 I do. Maybe I should stop.

Lovely pics of the trees at DTD.

I love that boat ride from POR to DTD.

Great as usual.

MeMom ---- I just finished reading ALL of your trip report on my 8 hour shift at work ( didn't do much work HA HA ) but I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed it. You have brought tears to my eyes on several occasions just commenting about your children and grandbaby about how much you appreciate them and love them and how thankful you are. I think we all take things for granted in life. We definitely need to appreciate a lot of things more often, and you have made me remember that. Thank you. I take my two children and my wonderful husband for granted everyday but I do love them more than anything. I can't wait to hear about your upcoming trip. And I am looking forward to my upcoming trip with my family in December even more so now. :lovestruc but until then take care and god bless you.

Hey MeMom, great pics....again.

What is the treehouse picture???

Thank you for your sweet thoughts. I'm glad you are enjoying the report/reports. We enjoy reliving and sharing our good times with other Disney crazy people. I hope you will continue to enjoy reading along on the next two trips. After that, I'll be depending on you and others to get me through whatever long period of time I don't get to go. This year has been a once in a lifetime opportunity, but I know it will be coming to an end after our July trip, and I am already sad when I think about it.

declansdad - The treehouses used to be opened for guests, but then for several reasons, they were changed to house CMs, not guests. There have been many rumors surrounding tearing them down and putting up new resorts. One thread I saw recently said they were going to be torn down and rebuilt as better treehouses and rented out again, but who knows? They're cool to see along the boat ride, since they are one of the less-known details of Disney. If you do a search on here and on youtube, you'll find more information on them.

At All Star Movies, we shopped, of course.

P1130980.jpg

Every gift shop has cool decorations. I want the job of being a Disney resort decorator.

P1130981.jpg

P1130982.jpg

P1130983.jpg

Is it okay to say 'cool' these days?
I guess I'm revealing being stuck in a time warp.
At least maybe it's better than saying 'groovy' or 'rad' or 'neato'.

At my school, everything that is cool, groovy, rad, or neato is now know as 'tight'. 'That's tight' is a common phrase.

Time for food. (Isn't it always? Do you guys think we eat ALL the time? We do.)

P1130984.jpg

Isn't that an awesome looking food court with all the lights? You can stuff yourself and feel like a star all at once!

P1130985.jpg

ASMovies chairs. Look at the filmstrip backs. So cool.

I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see...

Did you ever have to recite this poem at school?
I did, but that's all of it that I can recall.

Pictures around the resort. We'll be at this very place at this time next week, and I coincidentally came to these pictures at this point in the report. How cool, neato, groovy rad......man
Tight, even!

I know I will feel safe here, as the place is heavily and securely guarded.

P1130996.jpg

Some familiar friends.

P1140008.jpg

From this angle, it looks like she's got Woody hooked by the nose with that staff!

Let's see if Andy's room is clean.

Brooklynn stopped for her Disney TV debut.

P1140013.jpg

Actually, she had no earthly idea what she was doing in that box.

Hugging the puppy, however, came naturally.

Hanging out with Goofy.

P1140019.jpg

The puck stops here. Ha. (You did 'ha'....didn't you?)
No.
Okay. I'm done.
I'm just in a goofy mood, since I know that at this time next week, I will be right there!!!

Then we went back to the room for Brooklynn to get a nap before we headed out for the evening.

great update and pics.

maybe I will visit the values next time. they look like fun.

Thanks for the treehouse explanation.

The ASMo pics bring back memories. That was the first resort we stayed at on our first trip. We stayed in the Toy Story section and that was Declan's favourite movie at the time. It was pretty cool to walk through Andy's door the first time.

MeMom:
I think I am starting to get hormonal...I have had tears in my eyes reading your last couple of reports. Brooklyn is soo cute and looks like she just soo enjoys being at WDW...I guess I cannot wait to be able to go back with my child. I just wished I live as close as you do to be able to go back soo often.

You asked me to tell you about how we told our families about the baby.
We took my parents and inlaws to a model home that we are looking at building (someday when we get our house sold). We showed them around the house and one room was set up as a nursery and my husband told them that we were going to use it as an office but now we'll have to use it as a nursery....it took a "what?" "are you serious" until it sunk in that there was a baby coming. They thought they were just there to see the house that we would want to eventually build...of couse we will be waiting now since we do not want to be possibly without a house to live in with a baby coming.

With my brother, we went to visit him and his family. I had brought my newphews easter gift with me. It had a doll baby (which he is really into right now at 19 mos) and pink and blue m&m's and pink and blue peeps (because I figured he would not be allowed to have the m&m's--which I was right)....but my dad left the peeps in the truck because they did not fit in the box with the doll baby....so my brother and sil did not pick up on the hint...my sil finally got it when she read her birthday card that was from DH, me and Baby A.

My sil has since sent me a video text message of my newphew dancing with the babydoll (or in her qoute---his future cousin)---soo cute!!

I hope you have a great time and safe trip...can't wait to see your pics when you get home.

P1130886.jpg

Hey snowbell - there's your picture of MeMom!
I had to go back and look after Snowbells post! :lmao:
Two characters I had not yet seen:

P1130890.jpg
She looks so soft and fluffy. I just wanna run up and hug her. :cloud9:
And just look at that little girls face in the backround, That screams Disney doesnt it? princess: sooo happy. :)

Who is this? I`ve never seen him before.:confused3

We didn't think it would be right for us to buy 2008 items when we were officially leaving before 2008, so we didn't. We'll buy some things when we go back NEXT WEEK!!!
YAY! More MeMom pictures!! :cool1:

I remember seeing all your good pictures! Has Ma got any of her and Declan in St. Pete you care to share?

k_reile - Thanks for sharing your news. I know you will all have much to talk about and look forward to in these next 214 days! Keep us posted on all of your highlights, like hearing the heartbeat, feeling the kicks, finding out if it's a prince or a princess, etc. :goodvibes
Hopefully you won't have many lowlights, like morning sickness!!!

scottny
- You can go visit POP next time for a piece of tie-dyed cheesecake.

carrieannie - I thought that was a decent picture of me. I might even take another one in another reflection this time! No, I honestly did tell Jill that I would allow her one picture of me with Brooklynn this time. Just one.

That character is Max. He is Goofy's son. Most people probably didn't know Goofy was a single dad. I didn't either until very recently. I never watched The Goofy Movie.

I completely agree about the little girl. I saw her face and thought the same thing. So sweet!

Back to our story.

After a nap, we headed back to Magic Kingdom.

We are thinking about booking this place for a future stay. A future stay in Tomorrowland when our hovercraft gets out of the repair shop.

P1140023.jpg

This was the first time during the trip that we saw the real crowds. You literally had to walk in baby steps in most places. We decided it wasn't for us, so we bought turkey legs and headed back to the front to leave. It was so crowded going in that they had us leaving through gates behind Main Street.

P1140024.jpg

We'd never been behind Main Street before, so even that was okay to us.

P1140025.jpg

We sat out by the water and chowed down on turkey legs that were the size of Brooklynn's head.

P1140027.jpg

Since we had no particular plans, we got off the bus at Sports and took a few pictures.

P1140031.jpg

P1140037.jpg

So, our last night wasn't really exciting, but we were just fine with getting to bed to get up for an early start and make the most of our last day.

Next up - the last day.

Awwwww look at Brookie enjoying ASMu! What great shots of the icons and the food court! Now where exactly did they send you out of MK? Is that where the parade floats go? How cool is that?! I love the window decoration with Mickey and Minnie.....that is your window? Or did you just like it?

Beautiful photos as always MeMom! St. Pete's trip was OK. Broke my heart to see the Orlando signs on the highway and not be going there.:sad1:

Had a great day at the beach:beach: and ate lots of strawberries (Declan's fav)

Nice to get away from the snow and cold. Weather was great and Declan got to swim everyday. Went to Sawgrass Park and saw snakes and gators. Needless to say, DS was a typical boy and loved every minute of it!

Thanks for looking in on declansdad while I was gone;)

normally I would say last day how sad but you are going again so soon that I will not say that. :lmao:

great pics.

Did u get all your work done?

Then we were off to All Star Movies.

P1130976.jpg

Great pic! :thumbsup2
Ya know I never really visited the shops in DTD when we went for Christmas time, we walked through, but that's it. Thanks for the tour! :)

Hugging the puppy, however, came naturally.

P1140014.jpg

Awwwwww! :cutie: I wonder how many people have hugged that puppy. :rolleyes1

That's pretty cool that you got to exit through the back of Main Street.
So you leave this Friday?
:dance3: :woohoo:
