Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

MeMom:
I think I am starting to get hormonal...I have had tears in my eyes reading your last couple of reports. Brooklyn is soo cute and looks like she just soo enjoys being at WDW...I guess I cannot wait to be able to go back with my child. I just wished I live as close as you do to be able to go back soo often.

You asked me to tell you about how we told our families about the baby.
We took my parents and inlaws to a model home that we are looking at building (someday when we get our house sold). We showed them around the house and one room was set up as a nursery and my husband told them that we were going to use it as an office but now we'll have to use it as a nursery....it took a "what?" "are you serious" until it sunk in that there was a baby coming. They thought they were just there to see the house that we would want to eventually build...of couse we will be waiting now since we do not want to be possibly without a house to live in with a baby coming.

With my brother, we went to visit him and his family. I had brought my newphews easter gift with me. It had a doll baby (which he is really into right now at 19 mos) and pink and blue m&m's and pink and blue peeps (because I figured he would not be allowed to have the m&m's--which I was right)....but my dad left the peeps in the truck because they did not fit in the box with the doll baby....so my brother and sil did not pick up on the hint...my sil finally got it when she read her birthday card that was from DH, me and Baby A.

My sil has since sent me a video text message of my newphew dancing with the babydoll (or in her qoute---his future cousin)---soo cute!!

I hope you have a great time and safe trip...can't wait to see your pics when you get home.

Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you and your family... :cloud9:

That picture of Brooklynn hugging the dalmation is one of the cutest I have seen. So I am all packed and ready to go on the disney trip with you. I already purchased extra strength ear plugs... :cool1:
Nah -- just kidding... If you stay an extra couple of weeks, we can finally meet. I will be there the weekend of April 5th -I am buying an annual pass this time. I found out you get a discount for being a DVC member. Thank goodness... money well spent.
I am looking forward to seeing the picture of you and Brooklynn.

If I had the money, I would stay two weeks, or maybe two months! Eventually some of our trips are bound to overlap, although my annual pass will end in July, so the many trips will be cut waaay back. I might shrivel up and die without multiple trips on the books. I think I know what addicts feel like - because I'm pretty addicted to my Disney!

Okay, DAY LAST! If I don't get through this by Wednesday night, it ain't happenin'! Thursday I am booked from morning till night, and Friday we leave from school.

We packed the car and said goodbye to the room.

Brooklynn had to say goodbye to her water one last time.

Closing day was spent at Magic Kingdom.

I'm a lurker here and have only posted like once before but I have just have to ask, what date was that where the park seemed so empty? We are thinking about going in early December this year but weren't sure of the weather and crowds. We have been in early November and late Feb./early March. Any insight into which is better would be appreciated. Great TR by the way. I love seeing the pics of Brooklyn enjoying herself because my youngest boy would be 18 months if we go then. Thanks

Believe it or not, it was December 30th. The night before was crazy - probably as crowded as I have ever seen any park, but the next morning, while everyone else was sleeping in or eating breakfast or whatever they were doing, we were enjoying an empty park.

We're leaving this Friday, and yet again this is supposed to be one of the busiest weeks of the year. Because I am a teacher, I can really only going during crowded times, so I guess I'm just used to it and not too bothered by it. The mornings work very well for us, because the benefits are worth getting up and out early.

Hi Memom,
Great updates, love the pics of Brooklyn at ASMo, too cute! Also love the MK pics. Hope to see you Saturday at MK if we don't get rained out. Have a great trip!!

Brooklyn's mommy,
I saw your Freed-Hardeman shirt in one of your pics. I have a friend who graduated from there a few years ago. Are you from that area?

Jill doesn't get to be near a computer very often, so I'll answer for her. We're not from Henderson, but she did go to Freed. She met John there. Who is your friend, and I'll ask her when I talk to her on the phone? You can PM me, and I'll relay the information.

kaysmommie - We'll be watching Spectro THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!!!! :yay: I hope it does work out for us to meet. The weather forecasts I've been seeing look good.

Hey MeMom! I posted awhile back and I love all of your updates, especially your pictures. I usually just lurk, but I had to post because my husband and I both went to Freed. I got so excited when I saw that Jill did too! I doubt we knew Jill, she looks a little younger than us.;) DH was there from 1991-1995 and me from 1994-1996 (I didn't graduate. After we got married I started pharmacy school in Memphis) When did she graduate? We might have some mutual friends. It really is a small world!:rotfl2:

She graduated high school in 2000, so she missed you by a few years. We probably do know some of the same people in the C of C world. :)

After the workshop today, I went back to SAM's for more food for Culture Night, came home and looked up an African recipe, since they don't have much food to represent them tomorrow, went to Kroger to get the ingredients, came home and made a Moroccan chicken dish, cut 200 eggrolls into bite-sized pieces, cut Australian trail mix cookies in half, scrubbed a five gallon drink cooler, lined up four trays of mini quiches, washed the dishes and took a shower. Now it is time to DIS!

Since Jill didn't have to drive this trip, she decided to take a little drive on the Speedway.

Not much of a wait.

We didn't ride Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain this time, since we would have had to ride alone, but this time, with a third person, we will probably baby swap and ride both.

Jill is wearing the 'Por favor' shirt I had told you about earlier.

MeMom: Loved the castle photo. It's hard to find unique views of such an icon but you did a great job with that shot. Bravo!!!! I can relate to that final walk out of MK. It's tough ... and I don't have another trip planned. :sad2: In the interim I'll have to depend on photos like yours! Thanks!!!
