I realized yesterday that school for our guys starts in a week! Where did my summer go??! :sad1: Actually, the full school schedule only starts for one; DS12 and DS15 are home schooling this year. DS10 is pretty excited to go back, I think. It's a new school so I get the trepidation bit. At least his elementary school was right next to the middle school, so his art and music teachers are the same (always nice to have a familiar, friendly face!). He got a good teacher, and knows at least one good friend will be in his class.

DH is taking the boys camping this weekend. That's a double bonus for me because now on top of a girls' meet on Sunday, I have the apt. to myself for 2 days!! :yay: There will be wine and lots of reading on my deck.

Work has been tolerable this week. The daycare bit ends this weekend so next week should be back to normal (well, in that respect, anyway...). There was rumor of the boss taking tomorrow off, which would in turn mean no work. I'd love a full paycheck, but I could also use the day off, so I'll take it however it turns out.

Hope y'all have a good one!!

OH!....Mean Queen -- there's a possibility I will in FL for NINE days in November!!.....I daresay I think we can fit a Starbucks meet in there somewhere! :rotfl:

.

I can't believe he's almost two! Time does fly. :moped:

He's two and I have a second grader. I vividly remember second grade. Some days, it just does not seem possible.

And then other days, I so feel it. :lmao:

Hi TK.... How fast the little guy is growing up. Sometimes wish I could freeze them where they are now.... and then other times I think when will this part be over... like the teenage girl attitude parts, and the sibling rivarly between the little guy and my 8 year old.

Totally agreed. I have moments with Squirt that are too precious and others when I look at him and think, I can't wait for you to nap today. We've hit toddlerdom full force and there's a bit of "terribleness" going on. Usually I can laugh it off, but when he's cranky all day long...oy. One step at a time.

my DS8 just started fooball... I thought this would be a good age to start him in something.. he didn't like swim too much, but.. I'll tell ya, some of the boys on his team have been playing for a while already, this is obviously not their first year, he likes it, but has some catching up to do. I hope he will at least learn the game, and have fun at it. everyone has to start sometime. I love football, and used to watch it ALL the time when I was younger w/ my dad and I really understand the game, whereas my DH never really got into it, and doesnt know a darn thing about it.. so when my DH tried to give him advice after his first practice, my DS said.. let me ask mom, cuz at least she knows the rules. I even took my boys to the Eagles training camp one afternoon to watch... ( a few days before reid's son died... kinda weird that we were there.) Anyway.. that was FUN... watching all the players doing drills and then practicing some plays... they were videoing the sessions. it was all free except the part where they just happen to bring you in through the souvenir tents to get to the bleachers. I almost felt like I was in Disney getting off a ride.

Oh well... it is 3 am and I should stop talking to myself and get some rest...

Adorable! I love how he knows to ask you for advice. :lmao: That would so not be me. I'm not the sports person of the household.

Totally agreed, summer went way too fast.

I did not realize you'd be home schooling two of them this year. That's pretty cool. :thumbsup2

I'm so happy for you! Some alone time and some girl time with the meet! :goodvibes

Morning, nanners!

One of those nasty side effects of starting to put the kids down early to prepare for school next week is that they wake up early. I was woken this morning to the dulcet tones of Squirt screaming "Enough! I done! I done nuh-nights!"

Lovely.

Anyhoo. Will be heading to the gym later to get a swim in. I'm trying to get back into my daily exercise routine and get off some of the weight I gained over the summer. Ridiculous to gain weight in the summer but business with kiddos and I did not get to the gym nearly enough. I've lost 5 lbs so far of the overall 20 I'm going for. So 1/4 of the way there. Some days it feels insurmountable, but now that I've started working out regularly and have endoprhins going again, I think it'll be much better. ;)

Enough about that! We're pretty much ready for school here. I need to give Nemo a haircut this weekend and drop off some forms at the beginning of next week, and then he'll start on Wednesday.

Oh, and for the first time ever, the bus will pick him up at our house! I'm so excited! After having lived in an apartment for years and having to drop him and pick him up at the bus stop, and then a mix up with him not being even included in the route last year and having to wait at a neighbor's house, I am stoked that all I have to do is walk him to the end of the driveway. Bliss, sheer bliss.

It really is the little things.

Happy Thursday, my lovelies! I'm off to start my day.

It's just one day, during Thanksgiving week ( :scared1: ), but I also hope it goes well. Looking forward to it and really need it!!

8th grade is the top of middle school here also. She keeps laughing at how small all the other kids are. Granted, she's almost 5' 6" at 13, so she's taller than a lot of adults too.

Good luck to your family!

Wow! I'm so surprised the Tag Fairy was able to put it all back like it was.

I was one of those small kids. I was tiny.

LegoMom, enjoy the time alone.

daisyyy, that's cute how your son came to you for football questions.

I know! Where did the Kimmie Boo Boo come from? :rotfl2:

Hi, Smiley. How have you been? :goodvibes

It started with Honey Boo Boo.

Been okay. I guess it was time for a meeting. You have been on my mind lately. I hope all is right in your world.
