Oh no! I hope they managed to have a good time anyway.

...they did, but a lot of the outdoor activities got canceled...

Tonight is the Senior Awards Ceremony at his H. S.

Grrrrrrr Boone stole the living room tv remote last night. Now I can't turn the tv on b/c the power button is broken. This has happened before and we had to buy a universal remote b/c we couldn't find it. He didn't bring it to his normal stash. It might be under the couch. I have too much of a headache to try moving the heavy couch by myself so I guess I'll have to wait.

Yup. Usually the queen of all of that, and just can't seem to keep myself in gear for it.

And even though I have said I would follow through with the trip report, I don't think I will have the time. This new job is looking more and more challenging every day.

The guy who invented the TV remote passed away the other day.

CHICAGO -- Couch potatoes everywhere can pause and thank Eugene Polley for hours of feet-up channel surfing. His invention, the first wireless TV remote, began as a luxury, but with the introduction of hundreds of channels and viewing technologies it has become a necessity.
Just ask anyone who's lost a remote.


Polley died of natural causes Sunday at a suburban Chicago hospital, said Zenith Electronics spokesman John Taylor. The former Zenith engineer was 96.

....very sad: one of my DS's long-time friends (since 1st grade) was not present at the ceremony. I had JUST seem him earlier today, since he, and the H.S. Jazz Band performed at our school yesterday afternoon. When his name was called to received a music award, the band director informed the speaker of the [obvious abcense], who relayed to the audience that his mom had lost her battle to C****** that afternoon....very heartbreaking... . He's an only child - I wish that she had held out long enough to see her only child received his H. S. diploma....

He's an only child - I wish that she had held out long enough to see her only child received his H. S. diploma....

wow--that's interesting that it was censored out. My heart goes out to that kid, though. Losing your mom is never easy, but to lose her so young.

My facebook friends know this--Boo and I spent most of yesterday and today in the E.R. and orthopedist's office. She fell yesterday and broke her left arm. She has a cute pink cast, and seems okay with everything. I've been a freaking nervous wreck. Dan asked the nurse in the er if there was something they could give to me. She's fine, but what a night and morning!
