I'm home with a sick DD3 today. She's running a super high temperature but NOTHING is coming out. No snot, stool, vomit... she's just burning up. She hasn't eaten much the last couple of days and has been drinking. I'm not sure what to think is going on with her. I'm going to take her to the clinic this afternoon. I want to wait out the morning to see if we end up with any *ahem* fireworks.

Poor thing is miserable. She cracks me up though. The night before last, she was complaining that her eyes hurt so I dampened a washcloth and put it over her eyes. To her, it was a miracle cure. Now, she's been running around the house asking for her washcloth to put on her head. Ah the healing powers of a bit of cloth!

Happy Ash Wednesday as well! Yesterday I told DH "happy Fat Tuesday" and his response was, "What's so fat about Tuesday?" He didn't realize that today starts Lent! I'll have to get some fish fillets thawing, unless he votes for cheese pizza tonight.

It also cracked me up yesterday when a colleague was over the moon that yesterday was Mardi Gras. She exclaimed, "WAHOO!!! 40 days to spring break!" :rotfl2:

I'm so sorry to hear that your little lady isn't feeling well. I hope she gets over this quickly. :goodvibes

Reading what you wrote about your children made me smile. Okay it actually made me laugh. I have four as well. But mine are now adults. (where did the time go?) But I am so crazy in love with them it sometimes amazes me. Hubby and I both feel sooo incredibly........BLESSED. THEY LIKE US, THEY WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH US. They grew up being told that we are an unbroken circle. (We will always be there for each other) The circle just stretches to include who they fall in love with. And our circle is stretching. So hang in there. Before you know it......You'll be amazed too.

And to the rest of ya'll......I do not mean to make my children sound like angels. They weren"t. But we all survived. Ya'll will too. REALLY!! :rotfl:And you just might be very pleasantly surprised at the adults you end up with. :goodvibes

Lord I hope so because today I'm quite certain I will not survive DS15's teen years. (yes, back to him today....). I'm tired. I feel some days like I'm looking for too much out of him/them and really I just need to sit back and hang on. It just sucks right now because I spend 6 hours at work surrounded by a lot of negativity (nothing to do with me personally but it's still exhausting to have to listen to) and then I come home to more negativity. Home is supposed to be a HAVEN!!!

And I think our circle broke a long time ago.....:sad2:

MQ - does your school have an online grading system set up for that age group? Ours starts at high school, which IMO is too late, but it sure is sweet.

All of her grades are posted online, so we can check up on her after the fact. I'm supposed to take her to a concert this Friday, but not if she has a current class grade under a C. She had an F yesterday in one class because she forgot to turn in one assignment. I said, no concert. Amazingly, she remembered that assignment today and it went up to a B. I'm very thankful for the online portal.

Daisyyy - I'm tired with just 2, I'm sure 4 can be overwhelming at times. Especially during the difficult years. But we'll all get through it and hopefully have a great relationship with our kids like Smiley. :thumbsup2 I really just hope they turn into happy, healthy, and well adjusted adults. It's getting them there that's the hard part.

Ladies?

I leave for a few days and it's all butts, clowns, and monkeys. :lmao:

I've seen that show. It seems very staged. If it's not, then those couples will be getting divorced rather than move with the way they bicker over what to choose.

Seriously! They seem like some very dysfunctional relationships, I hope they're told what to say. :lmao:

DD had her second Orthopedic appointment today. Swelling is down and she starts PT 3x's a week on Monday. I'm going to take her 2 mornings @ 7am and she'll be late for school by about 30 minutes and then a Thursday or Friday after school. I would take her all 3x's after school, but I that would mean leaving school and rushing to PT. An hour of PT and then rush home, drop her off and go right to school. I wouldn't even have time to go inside the house. Then it would be in school and getting home at 10 pm. I don't care if my work likes this arrangement. I need that 1 1/2 hour to chill out, sitting in a waiting room isn't going to cut it.

Chilling out is a good thing, moms need down time.

TK, I have not seen that show, but saw the previews. I will watch it when I get the chance. Looks interesting.

At the very least, you'll get a good laugh. ;)

Hey everyone!

Drive-by fruiting......:duck:

Hope you are all having a good Saturday!

.

Drive by fruiting! Must be Mrs. Doubtfire.

...yes. yes it is. popcorn::

:lmao:

Good morning gals!

I finally get a day off of school and I'm going to enjoy it. I's our last break until spring break. :scared1: This is my least favorite time of the year - the kids get horrible cases of cabin fever.

We're off to my buddy's house in a bit for a playdate and girls day in. Our DSs and DDs will keep each other occupied and she and I can catch up. It will also give me a chance to help her plan her family's trip in July. They traded in blue/green points for 7 days at BLT. I'm insanely jealous that I can't go with them on this trip!

Heck, DH was teasing me about putting together a last minute trip for Feb. 29 but we scoffed when the airfare would cost what it would cost for 2 nights and 2 days worth of tickets. Then he gave me the excuse that I couldn't put a trip together in 9 days. Oh well... it's fun to dream, right?

I'm planning to make some calls today too. I'm thinking about becoming a Disney-specific TA. If I can get it up and running I can try to work from home and do more stuff around the house. DH's and my schedules are so crazy that the house is suffering and I can't stand it. By the time we work, get home, eat dinner, and spend time with the kids, it's time to crash for the night and nothing else gets done. It'd be nice to save babysitting money too. I've chatted with some folks on Touring Plans that are TAs and I know it's going to take some time to get going, but I was hoping if I started my 4th job by the end of school, I'd get as much training as I could get and then possibly move on to a larger internet-based agency like Dreams Unlimited or MouseFan travel.

I'll have to get the house wired for high speed internet first though. DH was supposed to set up the appointment but he forgot. :headache: I'm going to have to use my last personal day to babysit the house once we get the appointment set. We have to go through Comcast, it's our only option. We also found out that it's cheaper to keep a house phone with cable internet through them versus internet alone. It makes no sense to me, but we'll roll with it. :)

I was going to ask what I missed around here, but I was able to catch up relatively quickly.

Hope you are all doing well! (especially your boy kimmar... scary ordeal for him and you!)

Good gracious, you are busy woman! Just wanted to say hi. :goodvibes

That clown is not bad. I can handle that one.

It's been a very rough month. My husband has worked for the same company for over 20 years and for the 1st time, he was laid off for a month. Since my daughter sucked us dry, we did not have much to fall back on. I just keep telling myself to consider myself lucky it's only a month and think about all the people who have been out of work for extended periods.

Unfortunately I'm not working this week. It's school vacation and the husband of the family I work for took the week off. I'll be busy for a few days anyway. Tomorrow my husband has a colonoscopy and Thursday my son has oral surgery. Not only is he having his 4 wisdom teeth out, but 2 molars as well. He is going to be miserable.

I'm so sorry, hon.

I'm home with a sick DD3 today.

Hope she feels better soon!

Hellllloooooo. 'member me??? I miss you guys. just so darned busy with things changing at work, and home is insane. I'm with you LM... Where is that Calgon when you need it. I'm feeling a migraine coming on, but hopefully I took a couple tylenols to ward it off. Why didn't anyone tell me 4 kids was a lot... oh wait.. people did tell me.... why didn't I listen? :confused3 I love my kids to death... but they are killing me.... Feeling overwhelmed with them sometimes.. especially the boys... they just fight about everything.... anytime one of them has something the other has to have it at the same time.. and literally a physical altercation takes place... why can't they just leave each other alone for the next 8-10 years??? My DD's think I'm the chaffeur... and don't think they need to help .... is it too much to ask to wash the dishes they use?? nah.. it's easier to let mom do it after a long day at work... Oh well.... no really.. I didn't stop in here to moan and groan.... just really wanted to say HI.... Hope you all had a nice Valentine's day... Are you all watching survivor again?? or Top Shot... love that show.... my DS... can't wait to watch it everyweek, but he always falls asleep on it... Anybody know what happened to our winter? we had no snow to talk about... and I kinda missed it.. was hoping for a good one or two to get snowed in for a night.. just build a fire and have a snow day off of work... oh well.... I could skip right over spring though and get to summer... looking forward to getting outside and enjoying the sun... Can't wait. well, I've got an evaluation to do now.. gotta run.. I'll be back!

Aw, hon. I feel that way with two kiddos, I can't imagine four. You're awesome! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Does the cheerleading help?

Not so much?

How about these guys?

kwitch, I hope your little girl is feeling better.

daisyyy, great to see you. Hang in there. Someday it will get easier.

Smiley, I liked your "we all survived" :lmao: and "the circle just stretches to include who they fall in love." That is so sweet and generous.

LegoMom, I hope tomorrow is better.

Mean Queen, it is amazing how she remembered to turn in her paper when she wanted something. ;)

TK, thanks. Thankfully, he will be back to work soon.

My husband's procedure went well yesterday and all was normal. :thumbsup2

My son woke up in a foul mood. He is pretty nervous about oral surgery tomorrow. Watching the video at the office where they stated the surgery could be "possibly fatal" did not help. I tried to tell him they have to warn people of that very slim chance due to the anesthesia, but that didn't help either. During the video he was very fidgety and nervous and started saying things like "oh great... possibly fatal....that's great....just what I wanted to hear... I could die...possibly fatal" I couldn't help but start laughing at his sarcasm .

Glad hubby's went well. And poor kiddo. Sarcasm helps, right? :lmao:

Well, good. Although I'm sure it absolutely stinks to be going through this during the winter, at least it's not a longer term of unemployment.

I tried to say something to make him feel better, but he told me not to bother b/c he knew I was "just trying to make him feel better." That made me laugh even harder.

Exactly. Just think of all the people who have been out of work for extended periods.

My husband lost his job once, but we were very lucky. Within three months, he had another. At the time, though, it was pretty scary, so I understand how you feel, even if it is temporary.

I can't stop thinking about something yummy to eat. Mmmmm chocolate would be great right about now. Guess I will get ready for bed so I can watch Survivor in my bedroom. I love Wed nights...Survivor and serial killers (Criminal Minds) :rotfl2:

Oh my goodness, Target had 90% off their Valentine stuff...I ended up snagging these three packs of chocolate bars for .59. I bought four.

One is gone already... :rolleyes1
