Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

LegoMom....I have been interested in dehydrating. So I like hearing your take on it. :thumbsup2

Mean Queen.... Sounds like ya'll had a good weekend.:goodvibes At Pecos Bill, were they possibly saving room for a large group? That does sound really weird. Sorry about your adventure out with Priceline.

I did wonder if they were saving room for one of the many Brazilian tour groups, but if they were, they'd be holding it for a while because none were in that restaurant at the time at all. Also, my DD12 said they were doing that seating thing when she ate there back in September. She just didn't remember if they cut off certain areas.

Well how very un-magical and un-Disney. If you are going to control where a patron sits, it is now no longer a CS restaurant but a TS, so just seat everyone first and then wait on them. That really bothers me. I've only eaten there once and didn't run into anything like this (there were plenty of available seats and no one was herding the masses) but that would kill any desire to eat there again.

I dunno....I'm all about Disney but with money as tight as it is, Busch Gardens is looking like more and more of an option when we are in FL in June! With the AAA discount, we would pay about $150 less than WDW just to get IN, and then we'd get a 2nd day free. :sad2:

.

It seems like when I was there in 2009, Pecos Bill was doing the same thing at Christmas. Maybe they do it when they think the crowds are going to be high?

If you love roller coasters and animals, you'll like Busch Gardens. But the customer service definitely isn't Disney. The staff at the rides seem like a bunch of disgruntled college kids (because they are.) When we went last year for DD's 12th birthday, we all kept saying it was fun but definitely not the customer service we get at Disney. For example, we got there early and went left instead of right to get on a certain coaster. We walk by and find most of the rides aren't on yet and no one was there to tell us when it would be. Then we run into a blockade that stopped us from going further and it wouldn't open for another half hour. Why let us in the park if it's not open? We were able to look at some animals for a bit but it was odd that they let you in but aren't really open and don't let you know that stuff isn't open.

We did BG a few times in '09 when we were living there. I agree about the difference in CM's. Honestly we'll just have to see where money is at when the time comes. I know the kids want to do WDW for a day (although we'd be doing a weekday which means we have to leave UBER-early to try beat the Tampa traffic!!!). I really did have my heart set on a few spins through "Pirates..." and I promised my gang I'd do Space Mt. with them.....:scared1:

As I was making my way through Disney yesterday, I had myself a grand idea. We need to do a DIS babnana trip in the style of the Brazilian tour groups. We'd all wear matching lime green shirts with dancing babnanas on them and one of us would carry a large lime green flag with the babnana on it to lead the way. We would put our DIS names on the back of our shirts.

Oh, and I saw the most un-Disney-like thing ever yesterday at Disney. A guy was walking through the park smoking... a joint. Yep, I smelled something funny, looked down, and this guy was just walking through the park (not even the smoking area) with a tiny rolled up "cigarette." I did not see any CM's nearby to make a comment. But I was pretty floored that someone would be so brazen.

Oh, yes. We will need a Treehouse Villa to stay in, though.

Or a full section of POP Century. . .:rolleyes1

My guess is POP Century, and instead of soccer cheers, you can lead us in a Disney-themed flash mob!

No--I think the teachers should take turns. You can have MK and DHS. I'll take Epcot and AK.

Excellent idea!

I'm sorry; this made me laugh. Yes, I know that is wrong of me. I thought you were going to say something like a family cutting in line.

Glad to see you stop by! How's the theater going?

But then she'd get bacon grease all over that new mattress! Wait, that doesn't sound so right either. ;)

Disney was a lot of fun this weekend. I was surprised with how packed MK got today. Luckily, we got there early enough to get just about everything done. And we pooped out early. MK is open until Midnight, but we left around 7:30. There were a few things I wasn't that happy with. I do not like the new method to the Pecos Bill restaurant (not sure if others are the same.) But you have to get your food, then someone will show you to the area you will sit at. There were huge areas blocked off and you couldn't sit at. These were guarded by at least 8 CM's, so I don't see that blocking these areas off cuts down on staff. Plus, they only let you in on one side of the area you were to sit at, the other side was blocked off and guarded. It was all very odd and not terribly magical. DH and I are thinking of writing because we found it that annoying. Also, my hotel deal wasn't such a deal. While it was $85 a night, that did not include the mandatory resort fee of $22 a day and the parking fee of $11 a day. When it was all said and done, we'd have spent just as much at a moderate with a Florida resident or passholder discount. So that is our lesson learned about Priceline.

Lesson # 1642 - always check resort and parking fees before booking. Sorry this happened to you, but it's a good reminder for the rest of us.

I have become a dehydrating fool (that's dehydrating, kimmar!!.....not dehydrated!!....:rotfl: ). I ran my first batches today -- apples, pears and babnanas. They came out really well! These will make great hiking snacks, too, but mostly I want to start some larger-batch drying and put some things up in my pantry. I think we'll try some beef jerky next....DS10 is just begging for that!! My next purchase needs to be a vacuum sealer.

.

I've never used a dehydrator, but I think I would like it hiking/camping snacks.
