IDK what's happening with the first two photos... I posted the link signed in and signed out. :sad2:

Happy Easter!

How has everyone's weekend been? Quiet here. We went to a new church this morning for service; it's right down the street (trying to get more involved on a local level). We liked it and I think we'll be back. Then DH and the boys went to the IL's. I did not. Not ready to meet them head-on, on their turf no less.

So I finished a sewing project this afternoon, ordered Chinese take-out for myself, watched Disc 2 of LOTR: The Two Towers, cleaned DS10's parakeet cage, and made whole-wheat zucchini muffins!! Now I'm just putzing and waiting for them to get home.

Back to the grind tomorrow....

.

I'm interested to hear what your DH said to the in-law's to explain why you weren't there. Though your day sounded a heck of a lot better than it would have if you had gone.

We had brunch with my in-law's, talked to my dad on the phone but decided against making plans with him other than saying he was welcome to stop by because we'd be in the pool the rest of the day. And that's what we did. I braved the 82 degree water (cold by Floridian standards) and floated around on my raft for hours while DH watched baseball from his raft. DD6 was too lazy to get a bathing suit on, so she stripped down and got in the pool. :rotfl2: DD12 was so horrified by that she stayed in her room until egg hunt time.

Easter just about killed me. I think I was more worn out yesterday than at Christmas.

DH bought DS a new set of bunk beds Saturday night and we've moved DS's old bed into DD's room.

My house is a mess! And both DH and I are pooped! :faint:

We had a beautiful Easter - the weather was gorgeous and we got some good quality family time.

I couldn't ask for anything more.

Okay... just read Disney has cast Angelina Jolie to play Maleficent in a live action film about Maleficent.

Not sure how I feel about this.

1) She's got the face to handle the make-up

2) This isn't exactly her type of role... there are too many clothes involved...

Hope your IL's didn't give your husband too much grief about you not being there.

Oh no, you mentioned LOTR. Makes me want to watch it. :lmao: Don't get me started.

82 degree water....gee, how brave of you. I hope you could handle such cold. I saw a few snow flurries on Easter.

I hope you have recovered from Easter.

I'm not one of her fans, but she is a good actress. I'll give her that.

...

He hasn't mentioned it but honestly I think he just told them I had a raging headache (which was actually the truth by the time he was leaving here with the boys....). I don't think he wanted to get into it on Easter, just like I didn't want to be there and risk ruining the day for everyone else. Another time and on my turf.

Well I'm not sure how I feel about that either.....that's MEAN QUEEN'S role!! They are clearly miscasting here!

:rotfl::lmao:

Give in to it, SadieDog.....you know it's futile to resist. ;) I plan to start Disc 1 of the last one this weekend. Should have it wrapped up by Sunday.

Right??!.....:headache::headache::headache:

Mornin' nanners. I'm stressing over money this morning. Actually I was awake at 4am doing the same thing. Ugh. If this trip to FL was about anything other than spending time with my dad, it wouldn't be happening. I haven't been working enough hours but it's not like I can just shop around and find something else. There IS nothing else. Especially out here in the woods. DH can't leave his job but the 3rd-shift schedule is starting to wear on him and to be totally honest, I'm getting concerned. He confided some concerns to me the other day and said he's glad his physical is coming up next week. :sad2: We're hoping it's just the weird sleep schedule that's messing with his internal clock. But you know, it's expensive to live here, and we can't make it on any less.

3rd shift is miserable. I hope it's 'just' the difficult sleep pattern.

Boy do I understand financial concerns. I'm right there with you. I worked 1 hour last week. :headache: This week I will get 3 afternoons. We have been out of oil for too long. I'm tired of being cold. I keep reminding myself it will warm up soon. Sat when I got up, it was 56 in the house. Sunday 57 and today 58. See, it's warming up. :rotfl:

As you know, spending time with your Dad is the most important. Don't feel bad if you can't do an expensive outing as planned. Quality family time can be achieved with all budgets. :)

I sure wish I had some great words of wisdom for the both of you. Well, I do....but SadieDog I respect you enough to keep my thoughts to myself. And LegoMom, I think you know me enough to know what I would say anyway. :goodvibes I do care and you are both in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Not sure what you mean by this.... maybe you want to tell me I'm an idiot, but respect me too much to say it? :rotfl2: That's ok, get it out. Say what you feel. ;)

My head is in enough of a mess without anyone helping it along. Thank you very much.

I just found out that one of the things I was most stressed over at 4 o'clock this morning, has been taken care of. BIG load off my mind. And, taking it one day at a time, it's Tuesday, I've worked two days, and I'm going in tomorrow. :thumbsup2

SadieDog I didn't realize you were completely out of fuel.... If I could help I would!! Just paid a $450 propane bill myself....:scared: I do not want them to come fill us up again anytime soon!!! But then again, if they do come sooner than later, it won't be as large a fill as last time, since we haven't used all that much with that warm snap we had. Still, it'd be nice to just go without a propane bill at all for a little while! I heard on the news last night they are predicting $4.25/gal. gas by Memorial Day....:sad2:

LM - I have a friend who works as a nurse on the overnight shift and she's starting to have health issues from a mix of the stress of the job and the horrible hours. I used to work the overnight shift and constantly felt worn out and sick to my stomach, and this was when I was much younger and had no kids. I'm sure the hours are causing issues for your DH. I hope you are able to work things out financially and keep your DH healthy.

SadieDog - I wish I could send some of my Florida sunshine to you! But that seems to be more expensive than gas.

Hi Smiley!

Kwitch - hope you recovered from Easter!

All you people making fun of me for my "cold" pool. :snooty:
