Babnanas 11: "Boo-boo's are OUT, Toast is IN….

And so it begins......

I didn't work last week on Thursday. Not working today. I'll give you it's been much busier this winter than last, but I am NOT in a position financially to start missing days again. UGH. Yes, I'm grateful to be working at all, I get that. But I'm working to survive, not just save for the next shopping spree, so every penny counts at the end of the week. Sad thing is, anytime I go to Nashua (city) for something, I do see Help Wanted signs up here and there. Out here in the sticks?......NADA (my DS17 has been job hunting for over a year and has applied at any and every place that would take an app......He's still looking/waiting).

This world economy sucks.

So sorry, LM. I sure hope that work picks up for you...and soon.

Thank you. I'm thankful that it's been better than last year (when I went from Christmas to early July without working my full 30 hours!!). But, when I miss just one day a week, at the end of the month, I'm out $200...... That's almost a week's worth of groceries, or a power bill, or gasoline for DH for the month. :sad2: We saw it slowing, but then it just suddenly came to a screeching halt (my work is retail-related so how busy we are all hinges on customer orders....).

Ok, pulling out of my funk:

It's sunny and heading for near 60* today!
The birds are singing their little feathered hearts out!
My tulip bulbs are coming up!

And.....

I'm still going to Disney in 5 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand all too well about not working enough. Financially it's very difficult. I only worked 1 day last week. :worried:

Sadly he was showing up places she was the 1st time they broke up. That was over a year ago. Why she would go back a 2nd time to give it a try after all this time, I don't know. Stupid. Once 'loser' and another guy showed up at her best friend's house at 1am one night. They were scared to death when they heard someone at the door. She would try to go out with friends and he would show up. I finally thought we were done with that nightmare. I don't know what possessed her to go back a few months ago after over a year of being apart. I guess she thought he changed. News flash: They Don't Change!

Nope, they don't change  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he stays away this time. What a horrible feeling never knowing when he might show up.

I'm so sorry that work is lacking right now. I can relate just a bit as my work took a big hit during the recession (lots of layoffs, etc). I was very lucky to hang on to my job but I never knew for how long so we had to be super careful during that time.

Fingers crossed for your DS too!

Let us know about the new Ferris wheel . Hope you get some good rest:)

The new Ferris wheel looks very big and scary. I have an extreme fear of heights. But if I didn't, it would be cool to check out. The cars are about as big as cars, enclosed, and have nice seats and tables from what I could see.

I learned my lesson to not dress to look professional. I got 3 blisters on the first day. Today I'm wearing my comfy converse and jeans.

Comfy is usually best. Hope the blisters are better.

I do not like ferris wheels. I don't know if I could get myself on it. I'd rather ride a roller coaster.

Comfy is the way to go. :thumbsup2

Awww….thank you for letting me know. I would not get on that either, but I bet it was cool to see it. I hope your feet get better and stay comfy there. I miss being there. Enjoy the rest of your time.!

UGH UGH UGH My daughter went to visit 'him.' What is wrong with her!? I don't get it. :sad2:

I am sorry, but this is what usually happens. I know of a tragic situation. Not much you can do. Is she co-dependent on him?

It is so hard to get someone out of that cycle. Their head says one thing, but their heart makes stupid choices.

I'm sorry SadieDog.... I'm only just arriving at that point but it's very hard as a parent to watch your adult children make stupid choices. Just be there for her and IF she asks for advice, dispense with vigor!!!
