Due to the strike, which will effect both Gatwick and Heathrow, BA have announced the cancellation of 700 flights next week.

Well, at least that might give them a chance to get the thousands of bags still not returned to their customers sorted!!

PLANNED FLIGHT SCHEDULE FOR TUESDAY JANUARY 30 AND WEDNESDAY JANUARY 31, 2007

Customers flying OUT of the UK on Tuesday 30 January and Wednesday 31 January

British Airways will:

Operate no longhaul or shorthaul flights from London Heathrow during the strike period
Operate no shorthaul services from London Gatwick during the strike period
Longhaul services from London Gatwick will operate during the strike period except flights to Tampa, Bermuda and Barbados.
In addition the airline may experience further disruption to its flight schedule in the days following the strike as it seeks to recover its operation and position aircraft and crew around the world. Please visit 'latest flight news' for up to date information.
Customers flying INTO or via the UK on Tuesday 30 January and Wednesday 31 January

British Airways will:

Operate some longhaul flights into London Heathrow during the strike period
Operate no shorthaul services into London Heathrow during the strike period
Operate no shorthaul services from or into London Gatwick during the strike period
In addition the airline will cancel further services into the UK in the days following the strike as it seeks to recover its operation and position aircraft and crew around the world. Please visit 'latest flight news' for up to date information.

Industrial action will not affect flights operated by British Airways' subsidiary BA Connect or our franchise partners, BMED, GB Airways, Loganair, SunAir and Comair. Flights from Manchester to New York JFK, codeshare flights and services operated by our oneworld partners carrying a BA flight number will continue to operate as normal. Click Here for more information.

Customers are advised to check the 'arrivals and departures' information for the latest details.
Customers can also check whether their flight is operating by entering their booking reference number and name on the Manage My Booking section of ba.com or by contacting their travel agent.

British Airways plans to fly some empty longhaul aircraft FROM London Heathrow without any customers onboard during the strike period. This will ensure that the airline has aircraft and crew in the correct places so it can resume its flight schedule as quickly as possible.

However, it is likely that British Airways' flights will continue to be disrupted in the days following the strike as it seeks to recover its operation and position aircraft and crew around the world.

As a result, customers who are due to fly with British Airways in the days immediately after the strike are encouraged to check the 'arrivals and departures' information on ba.com, contact their local British Airways office or their travel agent to ensure their flight is operating as planned.

ADVICE FOR CUSTOMERS TRAVELLING DURING THIS PERIOD
British Airways has introduced a comprehensive policy for customers whose flight has been cancelled due to the planned industrial action on Tuesday January 30 and Wednesday January 31 covering rebooking, rerouting and refund options.

The T&G has notified the airline it also plans to take strike action on February 5,6 and 7 and February 12,13, and 14 that allows customers who are booked to travel between January 29 and February 16 to rebook their flights to another date.

Full details of this policy can be found Click Here .

This policy does not apply to flights operated by British Airways' subsidiary BA Connect or our franchise partners, BMED, GB Airways, Loganair, SunAir and Comair. Flights from Manchester to New York JFK, codeshare flights and services operated by our oneworld partners carrying a BA flight number will continue to operate as normal. Click Here for more information.

If you have a British Airways Holidays hotel, car or holiday booking in conjunction with a British Airways flight - Click Here for more details.

Customers whose flights are cancelled are advised NOT to come to the airport. Customers who were due to travel on cancelled flights have three options, they can:

Rebook or re-route their flight with British Airways for a later date
Claim a refund on any unused British Airways ticket
Customers whose booking was made directly with British Airways, should visit ba.com to check if their booking can be changed or refunded online.

Customers in the UK can also call the airline on freephone number 0800 727 800.

Customers whose booking was made directly with British Airways outside the UK should contact their local British Airways office.

All customers who have booked with a travel agent should contact them directly.

IF YOUR FLIGHT IS OPERATING
Customers whose flights are scheduled to operate should check 'arrivals and departures' information on ba.com for the latest information on the day of departure before travelling to the airport. There may be some disruption to flights as a result of the industrial action.

Customers are urged not to come to the airport BEFORE their flight opens for check in. This will help prevent unnecessary delays in the terminals.

Longhaul flights open for check in three hours before departure. Shorthaul flights from Heathrow and Gatwick open two and a half hours before departure. Shorthaul flights from all other UK airports open 90 minutes before departure.

Customers can also check in online on ba.com

Disruption to our customers is extremely regrettable and we are sorry for the inconvenience. We are doing everything we can to minimise the impact of the industrial action on our customers.
