I know that you guys probably won't be able to answer my question, but I am super confused about our flight and thought I'd throw it out to you to see if you can come up with an answer. I've been scratching my head over it for weeks now! :confused3

We are flying on the BA 2037 LGW - MCO direct flight. A little while back they sent me an email changing the flight times. No big deal. Someone I know was on the flight today which is pre- time change starting.

So the current times are departing 11.20am landing 15.35pm. The new times I've been given are departing 11.55am landing 17.40pm.

So how come the flight is leaving just 35 minutes later, but landing over 2 hours later? I just don't get it. It's not the change of departure time, because that frequently happens on any route, but why does leaving 35 minutes later make a journey 2 hours longer?

Any ideas??

BST ends Oct 27th. The time difference is not the usual 5 hours and your landing time is local time.
If you look at Seat Guru and enter your flight details upto the 26th Oct you get:
LGW -> MCO 2037 11:20a 3:35p Boeing 777

After the 26th you get:
LGW -> MCO 2037 11:45a 5:30p Boeing 777

Then when the US change their clocks on 2nd Nov you go back to:
LGW -> MCO 2037 11:45a 4:30p Boeing 777

That would explain it! Thanks, Wayne, I knew someone would figure it out. It's been driving me nuts.:rotfl2:

We have travelled at that time of year many times, I am sure the first time it drove me nuts too.:rotfl2: This time we come home on the 19th Oct so won't affect us.

If it's any consolation I saw your post when it went up and I was totally stumped too :lmao:

Looking on the bright side that technically means we get an extra hour at WDW! :lmao:

I knew there had to be some sort of explanation. I've been at that time of year a lot too but I've never really paid any attention to it. I was thinking maybe they are changing the flight path :rotfl:
