B2B with Covid testing

We have done B2B pre-Covid, but I am wondering what the protocol is now with testing between. Are you required to pack up all your luggage and roll it off with you to do the testing for the next sailing? Do they test onboard? Do the still let you back on early? I am just wondering whether there is a benefit of staying in the same room or not worry about it. If we need to pack up everything anyhow, I might just get a different room type to compare (maybe concierge?).

You still leave everything in your room. The process is pretty much the same as before, just with covid testing added between cruises. Testing is done in the tents outside, once all b2b clear you go back into terminal and eventually on ship. We were back on board within an hour of debarking.

Were you given any information about what would happen had you tested positive in between? Would a crew member pack your things for you? Did you have things packed and ready to go in your room just in case?
I’m also curious — What time did you disembark? We have early dining, so early breakfast, but we usually just grab Cabanas for breakfast on the last morning. Is there a specific time you are supposed to meet to get off for the B2B? Also, were you given guidance about what you could do when you got back on? I imagine you don’t watch the welcome party in the atrium a second time? Can you just go up to Deck 11? Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!

My friend had the same question and called DCL. The CM told her she’d need to pack but leave the suitcases on board. If she tested positive then DCL would bring her luggage to her.

We received a message on the app telling us to meet in pub 687, i believe it was about 915am. We were given a card to distinguish is as b2b. I imagine if you test positive they will pack your stuff up on a box for you. We were back onboard prior to the show starting in the atrium. We were informed by out stateroom host our room would be ready when we got back onboard and we could ignore the closed signs. There was sandwiches available at cove cafe. All public areas of the ship are open to walking but not everything may be open yet. You do have to go to your muster station to check in again.

See post 23 from the excellent trip report from @ukintheus https://www.disboards.com/threads/w...h-updated-1-4-22.3864227/page-2#post-63650513

This is Galveston, but I expect the experience is similar on the other ships.

Thanks for the shout out. :goodvibes

On our B2B we did not have to pack, nor did anyone suggest we should. I suppose we could have if we had wanted to be extra cautious but we elected not to as it's really one of the highlights of doing a B2B for me. The testing process for the second cruise was much faster because it was just B2B passengers and vendors. It took about 10 minutes for us to get our results. If you are on early dining I would talk to your servers the night before and see if you could do the second seating breakfast so you don't have to get up so early if you want to eat in the dining room. You can also order coffee from room service the night before and it should still be warm the next morning if you want coffee in your cabin. Cove and French Quarter Lounge were open on the Wonder to get complimentary coffee after you got back on. I asked our stateroom host what time we could get back into the cabin and he said around noon but I think the cabin would have been ready earlier if we had tried it. All of the information was on the app rather than them giving you documents, the only thing we got were stickers showing we were B2B. The app didn't say to have your port arrival form though, and I didn't take ours with us, but the process would have been much smoother if I had it.

We just did B2B on Fantasy (12/19 and 12/26). We did not have to pack. We met on Deck 4 and they took us all off together (it was a large group), went to the tents and tested (we all passed) then back through check in. Short wait in the terminal and then they took us onboard again.

Thank you for all of the information! Good to know about the port arrival form! I will keep that in mind. I have been reading your trip report but hadn't gotten to the b2b part yet. I always enjoy your reports, so I pace myself and only read little bits at a time so they last longer. 😉 Thank you for all the work that you put in to make the trip reports! I love living vicariously between cruises!!

I only just got the B2B day done yesterday. :goodvibes Thank you for the kind words - I do the reports mainly for my family, and to have the memories somewhere for the time with my Mum.
