B resort and spa vs. Doubletree

I just tacked on a day to our September trip and plan stay at a DS hotel for one night. The rates for B Resort and Spa and Doubletree look comparable, but the TripAdvisor comments on both are making me nervous LOL. Any advice on recent positive/negative experiences at either of these hotels would be appreciated. :thanks:

I stayed at B Resort last November and honestly I wouldn't recommend it. At check in there was only one person at the front desk due to no one else showing up for their shift (overheard a conversation between the person at the desk and who I guessed was the manager) so it took a while to check in due to how long the line was. I had issues connecting my reservation to MDE so I had to get a physical card with my reservation number written on it to show CMs for early entry into the parks (no issues with that. Explained the issues to the CMs + showed the card and I was let in).

As for the actual room, it had a musty smell to it as did the hallway. I will admit that the rooms are larger than the All Stars (as they were both the same price range when I was comparing hotels) and the bathroom was larger than I expected. The room in general looked VERY old/worn out in terms of the furniture. The lamp on the nightstand also didn't work and would sometimes flicker, but I was never able to turn it on and keep it on.

I didn't use the pool or go to any of the dining locations, so can't say much about them. I was told at check in that the pool bar was closed and I don't know if it's open now. I also didn't use the shuttles to the parks as I had a car. There is a resort fee and you are charged for parking each night. Being able to walk to Disney Springs was the best part of staying here. The walk is around 10-15 minutes and the walkway is lit up at night so no concerns about safety.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

We've stayed at both.

B resort seemed much older and our room also had a musty smell. A few of the outlets didn't work (not a big deal), and the room felt a little cramped (we are a fam of 5 and had a room with a king bed and bunk beds).

Doubletree's room was much much nicer. We didn't use the resort features at either place, so can't comment on that. The B's looked to have a nicer pool area, but that was just from a glance.

I stayed at B Resort back in February. For us, it was only a place to sleep and it was fine. I agree with the above poster about the wait at the front desk. We used the shuttle service. It was great in the morning getting us to the parks. There was a very long wait to return at night--1 shuttle an hour trying to return isn't enough, but we made it.

Stayed at doubletree earlier this year for 3 nights. The room was spacious and clean although a bit worn. The AC was kinda noisy and we didn’t like the tv. Just minor things that bugged me.

For a short trip I would stay there again.

Oy. If that is filled up, do they route another bus in? Or is too bad, so sad type customer service.

Im guessing there should be disney busses still going to Disney springs that you could get and walk to disney springs hotel complex as a last resort.

Disney buses do go from Disney resorts to DS. Disney buses do not go from Disney parks to DS.

Ahh so i see and verified with Disney Transport page. I thought there was bus service after 4pm from parks to disney spring. That must have been pre pandemic availability and i never refreshed myself on the current status.

For shuttles going from parks to disney springs hotels like b resort, if they were full up, did they bring in an additional busses to not leave disney springs hotel guests stranded?
