I am going to buy one of these next week and for those that own one I wanted to get some opinions on how you like yours? Pro's and con's. Thanks
I just went through the e-reader research and purchase phase myself. The nookboards website is great for getting real-life opinions on the product.
Check both B&N and Amazon and do e-book browses on the types of books you plan to buy. To me, this is the real difference between the products, as both offer 3G, wi-fi, the ability to synch other documents and pictures, mp3 files, receive emails with documents, etc.
Kindle is 3G only, no WiFi. Nook does both. Neither are email-enabled (yet, but that is probably coming)
True, the Kindle is 3G, but it's global and each kindle has its own email address for documents and files. The nook has wifi but it cannot be configured to work with paid wifi services.
My mom has a Kindle and she loves it. Any reason why you're going with the Nook over the Kindle?
Thanks everyone. I am about 90% sure I am going to get one next week. Now I just have to convience myself to spend the money.
The Nook site (B&N) has all the books I want. Plus I like the idea that I can go into a store an play with it before I buy one. For that kind of money I want to test one out first.
I'll take my Kindle over a Nook ANY DAY! IMO the Nook is much slower, not as user friendly, and has way too many glitches to be considered reliable. I have heard of too many people who's Nooks suddenly lose their "bookmarks" and all of a sudden their trying to figure out what page they were on in a 500+ page bookIt also loses your notes, and the battery life is no where near as good as Kindle.
