Well plans changed again. We were able to get a flight out of Barcelona Saturday at Noon but we were going to stay at the Diaganol Mar (sp)

So get in and get out quick is the plan I see!!! :lmao:

Hi all,

My wife and I are on this sailing. Our first (and maybe only) European vacation. We are in our early 60s. Looking for folks to join us on an excursion to Florence. I have setup an excursion at http://www.shareashoreexcursioninitaly.com. Look for the "GODFREY FLORENCE " excursion. This excursion can take 8 folks maximum. The more that sign up, the cheaper per person. If 8 people signup and go, it will be 90 Euros each.

Thanks,

Stan

I will look into that, it sounds interesting.

Wondering if anyone would like to join our family for private tours in Florence/Pisa and Rome/Vatican with Rome In Limo. We have room for 4 more in our group. Our group is Eggert scheduled for June 4 and 5; log on to Rome In Limo Tour Sharing website for more details. Thanks

It is with a sad heart that I have to say...we switched cruises. After researching and planning I was beginning to realize that for a family of 5 this vacation was going to cost us well over $10,000. Which is not an option for us. So, Europe will have to wait. :sad1: We moved it to the 8 night sailing out of Galveston, so we will get one extra night on the ship and we get to go to Castaway Cay and Disney World.
BTW, if anyone is interested...I just canceled our hotel reservation. We had two rooms booked for the two night before the cruise at the airport Rennaissance.

It's the airport Renaissance that will no longer be part of the Marriott chain. This is what DH received in an e-mail
With reference to your current room reservation at the Renaissance Barcelona Airport Hotel (xxxxxxxxxx)from June 08th to June 10th, 2013 we need to inform you that this property will no longer be operated under the Renaissance name and will no longer be part of Marriott International as of November 1st, 2012.

That's a shame that you would be joining us, I hope you make it to Europe one day.
I can see why you would put it off for another time with the flight prices, I am fortunate enough not to have to worry about flights.

Have a fab cruise out of Galveston!

We will be joining this cruise :wave2:

JustAnnieNotHazel - Annemarie
hazelandannie - Hazel (DP)
We are from Kent, UK
This will be our third DCL cruise (WBTA 2011, Dream sept 2012)

Still to be confirmed but this will hopefully be our honeymoon!!

Hello everyone :cool1: :grouphug:

We have now booked our flights from the uk to Barcelona. We are travelling into Barcelona on the Tuesday night (cheapest flight) this will give our party 3 days to chill around Barcelona before the cruise. We will have to dash off the cruise at the end as we fly back at 11am..

Now we can start to plan our ventures for the cruise... :cool1:

The flight I looked at was 10:50am on the Saturday!! Early debarkation should ensure arriving at the airport nice and early

Hi, I will look into this also. The wife and I will be first timers to Italy and want to see as much as possible with our limited budget. I think we might just take walk around Nice and take the train to Monte Carlo and back. Pisa/Florence we'd like a cheaper option than Disney Excursions. I think Rome we'll just do the Disney tour. I think we'd also be up for another one of these excursions in Naples that does Pompeii, Amalfi, Sorrento, Positano or some combination of them.

This thread has gone mighty quite, I hope you are all well.

Roll call really needs updating as we have some that have dropped out and many others who have introduced themselves.
I must say that I did find the google spreadsheet much easier to keep track of who is and isn't on this cruise.

I have been keeping an eye on Disney to see if any new information is coming out and nothing as of yet. When do they normally advertise excursions and the like?

Would it be cheaper for a bunch of us to get a van to go to the airport? I heard the shuttle from the ship to the airport is kind of expensive. Not sure a private option is going to be that much cheaper or worth the effort though?

Also, I have a file of the old excursions, it's a word .doc so I can't attach it here but I can email it to whomever is interested. I like the idea posted a page or two back about the private excursion company shareashoreexcursioninitaly .com .

We would be interested in a group airport transfer.

Great idea about the airport transport. Unfortunately, I am not flying so we wouldn't participate. :thumbsup2
