Awnings - leave them out?

I have motorcycle insurance with them and filed a claim this spring after blowing a rear tire and bending the rear rim on a pothole. They were really prompt and helpful.

I also have motorcycle insurance with them but fortunately have had no claims to-date.

I can't say I'm totally satisfied but I am obviously not too upset because I still have their RV policy and later purchased their motorcycle policy. However, this happened on a late Friday afternoon and we weren't leaving until Sunday morning. Yet, they were unable to dispatch any sort of adjuster to where we were. We had to wait until we got home and we couldn't get home without removing the damaged awning. Which, as I said earlier, I had to pay out the ear for not knowing if Progressive would later cover it. The people I talked to on the Progressive claims line said they, nor anyone else on duty, knew anything about the RV insurance coverage as it was "specialty" insurance and they handle mostly auto claims so I'd have to wait and speak to someone after start of business Monday. This just didn't seem right to me for a company as large as they are and that advertises and sells as much "specialty" insurance as they do. I was mad enough to cancel the policy right then and there at the time. But, obviously, I got over it.

we went to Gilbert RV insurance. Saved a lot

I also have Gilbert and explored many other policies and they seemed to cover the most. The guy we bought our coach from had them as well and said they were great when it came to claims. I know that is hearsay, but I have had no trouble with them at all.

I don't know about anyone else, but it makes me have a little more piece of mind having an insurance company that only deals with RV'ers. Having someone have my policy that writes auto insurance makes me nervous, but that is just me...:thumbsup2

aaahhhhh, the awning dance!:rotfl: :rotfl:
"should we, shouldn't we,should we, shouldn't we..."
I hate the awning dance during a 2am thunder and lightning storm.:goodvibes
