AWM has no power...

Ike blew the roof off of her garage and they have no power. Her DH is driving around trying to find some gas for the generator, but the interstate is closed.

She wanted me to let y'all know she would be off line indefinately...

Oh my goodness!!!! I've got more than a few choice words for Ike. Good thoughts and pixie dust heading her way. Fortunately, we had no major damage and the boards are coming off the house finally and I'm in Texas!!!!! Good grief!

ash, how's your brother and his house?

My brother and his house are fine! They have power and water as of yesterday. My SIL said that there were signs down, roofs destroyed, fences down all over the neighborhood, but fortunately their house was untouched.

DH's brother and his wife, that are staying with us, live on the coast about 40 miles east of Galveston and they can't return home yet. No power, water, sewer. There is no gas and no groceries stores are available. But BIL's work (he works for the state) wants him to return to work on Tuesday- where is he supposed to stay? And what is he supposed to do for gas to get to work if he uses most of what he has to get home? His wife will stay with us until there is power- she's a scrapper so we will be working on my swaps together!

Wow! They want him back to work on Tuesday.. We'll hopefully they'll have a state gas pump available for him than...

Glad to hear your brother is fine.... and hopefully things will start getting back to "normal" soon..

Ike was one nasty storm. Poor AWM and AWD. First the water issue in the basement, now the roof blowing off like the Wizard of Oz. She must feel like she is in Oz.
