Awfully quiet around here, isn't it?

Oh Tracy, I was kidding :rotfl: Thankfully you have a good sense of humour! :goodvibes I was quite cheeky on the other thread actually - I suggested duct tape as an alternative to essential renovations :scared1:

I think I could be in need of the Duct tape. My toes are freezing here sat next to a leaking, draughty patio Door.:rotfl2: Lets hope the lottery numbers come up this weekend.

I
Although i started playing with my ADRs last night and swapped Cape may Cafe for Whispering canyon cafe as my boys LOVE it and I hadnt been able to get a ressie up until now

We cancelled our WCC reservation because we didn't feel like leaving MK but ate at Cape May. I will say about Cape May, the food was really good, service was fine, but considering it was a character meal I had added (specifically for DD to meet Minnie) it was probably the worst character interaction we experienced so far. I have NEVER seen characters rush by so quickly. Thankfully Minnie came back later for a second greeting so it made it worthwhile but I was a little taken aback. I think we are pretty much done with character meals now - at least on the scale we have done them on thus far. So you probably made a wise choice with your swap.

Oh don't start! We had the gutters cleaned a couple of weeks ago. Incoming: Heavy Rain :headache: and the guttering has a huge crack in it. Where? Right above the front door so whenever there is rain falling (and we happen to live in Scotland :lmao:) there is a constant waterfall above the front door. Still waiting for them to return my call. :sad2: (The workmen, not the gutters).

Good idea, I should start playing and hoping :thumbsup2

:goodvibes

You gotta be in it to win it! ;)

It is a quiet place at the minute, I'm sure it'll pick up again though :)

I still pop in, even though we have no trips planned at all. It'll be 2013 if we're very lucky. Finances just don't stretch that far at the moment :(

I just like seeing what everyone's up too and chatting about all kinds on the community boards :goodvibes

I've not been around much - mainly because of work but also because I've no trip booked. Flight prices are still over £100 more per person than I'm willing to pay, so holding out for a sale or we won't go at all.

Also been considering NYC as my partner has never been but again the flight prices are the barrier. We may not go on holiday in 2011 because of this.

Are you tied to school holidays?

Darn! I have no idea what we will do when DD is in secondary school. I have managed to get away with tagging a week onto the holidays so far. Next year is 2 weeks out of school, but saved by the September weekend and 2 inset days (making a 2 day school week for one of them). No help to you, but if I hadn't done that, we wouldn't have been going next year. I priced it up one week later, i.e. missing one week of school and having one week of official holidays and the price for the accommodation package jumped enormously, which negated any flight specials that may come out. I hope you get a great sale. :goodvibes

Thanks. We are tied to school holidays because of work - not because of kids (we are in our 20s!) - so there is literally no room for negotiation (not even flying out the day before the holidays begin etc.).

Previously we have managed to get flights for <£350 with a connection by cutting off a few days (we have done 10 nights and 9 nights, rather than the 14) but even with the connecting and compromising on dates we can't find anything.

Have you looked into flying from Scotland or Ireland? It's just that our school holidays are different so I have managed Easter holidays for much less flying from England when our schools had different holidays, as they do. Prices were peak charging range for local airports but it was cheaper to fly from and English airport as most of the schools there were still in session. You obviously don't mind indirect which is what we are doing this year. I just wondered if your odds would be better if your holiday time was not technically 'holiday time' at the airport you fly from for yoru international flight. Of course you have to tally up whether the additional transport to and from departure airports actually equate to an overall saving when thrown in the mix and if there would need to be an overnight at a hotel thrown in. It has worked a few times for us, but not this year.

I just can't believe the charges on the taxes now! Our taxes were close a the cost of the flights :scared1: I pulled out my documents from the last two trips and the flight prices from 3 years ago and the next trip were fairly similar but the taxes .... :headache:

I've been lurking around but not seen anything worth posting on.

We are thinking about next year but not booked anything yet.

We were in our local disney store today and they were playing a video about all the christmas events at WDW. DH had to take me out of the shop because he thought i might cry. I have had the worst Disney blues since we came back.
