Nine months ago, I decided I wanted to learn how to play the piano. I am 33. Figured I was too old, but what the heck. I bought an electric piano for around 1100 dollars. My teacher asked me why I wanted to learn, I told him I wanted to play music from The Phantom of the Opera. Well, I started on a book titled, "Teaching Little Fingers to Play." My lesson is one hour a week and I practice about 6 hours a week. I am on my third lesson book and can play some Bach, some Mozart, and a whole bunch of learning style songs. I know my chords and my scales. This Christmas, I was even able to play Silent Night and O Holy Night for my family. Well, last night, at my lesson, he put Music of the Night (from Phantom) in front of me and told me I was ready to start learning how to play this. It took me nine months. I must have been working on it for hours last night and this morning .... very exciting and just wanted to share with other music lovers out there.
