:cool1: Just had to share this wonderful deal that I just finished booking for our upcoming 15th Wedding Anniversary.

Spirit has a syberdeal on now for flights from DTW to MCO for $48 and $54 each way for select dates in August 2005.

also, Disney has the Magic your way package with dining special offer - so I put the calculator to work and worked out and the deal as follows: :smooth:

family of four - two adults and DD - 10 and DS -9 $ 483.60 US total
Flight - nonstop from DTW Departing August 26th @7:45am- arrival 10:25 am
return flight August 31st - departs 6:40 pm - arrival in DTW 9:20pm

So we have 5 nights and 6 full days in Orlando.

Booked All Star Sports Resort for 5 nights $684.89 - which includes Magical Express transportation, Dining special offer and a 1 day magic your way ticket for each of us. (we already have multi day passes - but wanted to get the free dining plan offer)

Grand total of $ 1168.49 US :Pinkbounc

I did alot of number crunching - looked at 4 nights vs 5 nights and only 100 more for all of us. I've had a lot of experience using priceline and even pricing it all out separately this disney offer beat it by at least $100 and did not include the one day pass.

Now where in Ontario can you go to get this kind of deal and comparable entertainment! Pretty hard to beat and impossbile for disneynuts like us to pass up. So here we go again - 2nd trip this year!

I hope someone else can benefit from this deal too as the special will be gone soon!

So how many days of free dining do you get with that?

:goodvibes

You too.... we are doing our 2nd this year in December!

I guess we are all hooked on mouse, mousaholics!

That is a pretty good deal!

We are getting 7 day hoppers (non-expiring as we will be back next year... and the year after....) at TDS, and found great flight deals out of BUF that are marginally cheaper then yours. I was lucky to find ours on Expedia, but when we told my in-laws, they wanted to come too!

This year we are staing at the Hilton Grand Vacation Clud on International Drive in the Lake Beuno Vista area, VERY nice. I figure it costs us USD$1050 for the 2 BR when all is said and done.

You did well!

The current dining plan special provides one days worth of meals per night reserved. So 5 days. Includes one table service meal, one counter serve meal and a snack per person per day and the available restaurants are tremendous. We plan to eat at some different restaurants and use two table service credits to attend the Hoop Dee Doo review - something we last went to on our Honeymoon 15 years ago at WDW. Sound like the exact same menu and the kids are excited to see it too. We figure that this dining special was too good to pass up and we will be eating extremely well. Probably too well!
We have multi day passes left over as we go to WDW every March Break and have taken our two kids every year since they were barely 2 and 3. Before the kids came we went yearly too - and we just can't get enough.
I'm sure everyone will thing we're nuts heading back to florida again this year - but we truly feel that for the value, we will have more than enough entertainment and do what we really enjoy. Hey, it's our Anniversary getaway! and we're even taking the kids probably for the same amount we would have spent on just ourselves.

I thought you had to book the three day magic your way ticket to get dining for the entire trip?

I had read this post by talicskai,in this thread, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=9538629#post9538629

"Hi there .........the deal must be booked by August 20th and is for travel from August 21-Oct 4, 2005. You must buy a 3 day MYW ticket to get the free dining. I have clients (I'm a TA) that are going Sep 21-28 at the Port Orleans French Quarter , 5 day passes, magical express transfers and airfare from Toronto. Their Disney price was $1500 US (approx) and airfare was just under $1000 Cdn. You can book direct or with a TA. The Disney price should be exactly the same so let an agent book that for you. Southwest can be booked directly www.southwest.com or an agent can also do that for you as well but they will charge you a service charge for booking the flights. Our fee is $35 plus GST.
You can PM if you want but an agent near you can book it too."

I got my information directly from the disney page and what it allowed me to book - but I got most of my research from lurking around this board. I recall reading that same post that you quoted, TA's are a great resource, but I prefer to check with the actual source (disney) and I also find that the experts on this board know their Disney details than most TAs.
Here is another link with the same details I was able to book. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=875942
There are many more posts and examples as some people chose to select more days on their passes whereas I chose the absolute minimum to get this deal.

Thanks Sonya. I wish the disney site would be a little more clear on the details of the minimum days thing. I think I will call before I book.

My sister only had to book a 1 day ticket to get the free meals for 7 days. She had already bought 10 day passes, but they told her to get the deal she would have to buy another one day pass. She's staying at Pop C, the first week in Sept.

I know that the site is a little misleading as it also says the package is for a "Moderate resort" - but after reading the success others had with booking the package at a value resort - I tried it too and it worked. :confused3
Again, we are still amazed at the savings with this special and we have a pretty good idea of where we want to eat and we are going to try all new places for a change - except I'm sure we'll make it back to Beaches and Cream at least!
I did try for Pop for our dates, but no luck and had a choice of the all stars -and the kids chose the sports theme for a change as we stayed at the Movies almost 6 years ago. We like the moderates too, and stayed at POR this past March with our good friends and really enjoyed our stay - but wanted to stick to a budget this trip and try some things that we have always been too rushed to do or just plain overlooked.
Soon, we will be doing the single digit dance !!!! :cool1:

It was a minimum 3 night stay booked with a magic my way package. When you are booking MMW, you can choose how many days, so you only have to pick 1 day to get the free dining for your entire stay. I'm not sure about using this package at Beaches and Cream though, seems like a waste of a TS credit.

Oh no, we will definitely be maximizing our TS credits at other restaurants (plan to use the 2 credits for Hoop Dee Doo - already booked for Friday nite, Whispering Canyon cafe, Concourse Steak House and one character meal)

Of course, our kids will insist on heading to Beaches and Cream for side trip for a super sundae! and then a long walk........ :Pinkbounc
