DC suburbs here. Schools are closed tomorrow and Tuesday. metro buses and metro rail are also closed. All of our outside stuff is secure. We still have pumpkins to carve tomorrow, going to make Rice Krispie treats and an apple pie with DS while we wait out the storm.
Worried about my mom who has a neighbor's tree hovering over her house. We don't lose power often here, but this storm just feels really ominous. I really hope everyone stays safe and it's all hype for nothing...
Tip: MIL suggested freezing bottles of water and then transferring the bottles to the fridge to keep it cold if the power goes out. She's so smart!

I knew I wanted to get everything up early before the baby came, and this is the perfect excuse. I bought headlamps for everyone in the family, so if the power goes out, we'll be decorating the tree by lamp-light!
I feel that the kids and I are prepared. I heard on the news that it is best to charge your cell phone, turn it off, and only turn it on if you need to. Leaving it on will drain your battery. If you have to leave it on make sure the screen light is on the lowest setting. Stay safe everyone!

Who goes in for elective surgery during a state of emergency?!!! My sister told her that if they send the National Guard and a hummer to pick her up in New Jersey, she will consider donning her scrubs.
. One piece of advice that mom around here are giving. If you need size "d" batteries but can't get them use a "C" battery with quarters to make up the extra space. C and D battieries are the same voltage!
