and now James Taylor. I'm getting all sentimental with the Grammy performances.

Sounds of Silence was the first song that I slow danced to with a boy. I don't even want to think of how long ago that was. ;)

Seeing them together touched my heart also, Reg...

I was just about to give up on the Grammys because most of the nominations I've never heard of or don't care about!

It was good to see them patch up their differences and make excellent music like I used to love!

I enjoyed both....it is so wonderful....:D :D :D :D :D :D

Shoot, I missed it. :(

I have it on now, the Dixie Chicks are singing Landslide. I love the Chicks, but I'm not particularly crazy about the rendition of this song. Only Stevie Nicks should do this song, imo.

I learned more about Simon and Garfunkel's music when I was in high school...we had an english teacher who used their music lyrics in class, explained the lyrics, etc. (He was a cool teacher!) I got my first S & G album at that time, that was in 1975-76. They are still great!

Simon and Garfunkel just started singing as I clicked on this post. gotta love it.

Simon and Garfunkel did a concert at my college in 1969 or 1970. It was the most fabulous concert that I have ever been to. The rumor is that they might be reuniting for a world tour. How fantastic would that be....... :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

You could throw in some James Taylor too. :)

DW Sue had never heard "Sweet Baby James" before tonight. I cannot believe that I never played that song for her since our first child is named James. He was a sweet baby. And in 10 weeks, that sweet baby is getting his driver's license. Yikes.

I absolutely love Simon & Garfunkel (together and individually) and I loved seeing them tonight. I think I know every word to every song they ever sang. :)

Love James Taylor too; he reminds me of high school and S & G remind me of childhood.

Simon and Garfunkel remind me of childhood as well. My parents had one of their albums on 8-track and I remember my sister and I dancing silly in the living room with my Dad to the song "Cecilia". Some songs would fade out as the tape jumped to the next track, and then would fade back in (remember that on 8-tracks?). Then when I was in junior high or so I remember watching their Concert in Central Park on HBO (I think it was HBO) and being very moved by their music. I still love their music today. I just get goosebumps when I hear it. What's this about a possible reunion and world tour? That would be amazing!! :)

Definitely seeing them together again was one of the highlights of the evening. . . :) :) :)

1966, Reg!!!!

Gee, thanks for that little bit of research there Dan.

I'm still all blubbery thinking of their performance. It's really something how a particular song has so many memories associated with it.

Wonder how many of the other performers from last nights show will be remembered and revered in 37 years.
