Avis or Dollar

Any preference between Avis and Dollar Rent a Car and why?

My preference of these two is for Dollar. First, Dollar is onsite at the airport (as is Avis) and, second, the cost is less than for Avis. Either company will provide a good, clean car and good service. If you go the way of Dollar be sure to maximize your time by joining Dollar Express and skipping the regular line at the counter.

Thanks for your experience. Dollar is a lot cheaper, but I usually use Hertz or Avis, so wanted some opinions.

My family and I have been renting for a while with Avis and their service has always been excellent.

Dollar has the Dollar Express program that allows you to skip the line. To me, that's a huge deal. I rent from them 95% of the time, and they've always done good for me.

I believe Avis also has an express lane for members. We've had good luck with Avis.
