Avis - how long with Amex certificate?

HI all,

We will be visitin in April - spring break chaos. Rented a vehicle using Amex points - how long does it take to process the certificates? Can I join a membership clube for a quicker get away?

Any pointers would e appreciated!

Last year I used my AMEX points to rent from Hertz.....not my primary choice for rental but I needed a large vehicle and they were the only ones with a Ford Expedition.

I had such a problem with the rental agency using my AMEX points. Hertz was having a problem with their systems and weren't able to use the AMEX codes until 1week before I was to leave. AMEX sent my certificates express mail to me.

AMex is great!! However I would never use Hertz again....I had lots of problems with the on other rentals as well.

Sorry for blabbing......in short AMEX will get you those certificates probably within the week.
