avis car hire

I usually use alamo brits for my car hire and was just booking ba flights and they gave me a good avis rate ( i can cancel for free). just looked on google maps and the reviews are horrendous for dodgy dealings but alamo is really good. does anyone have an opinion. wondering if i should just pay extra for the alamo as they have always been very good

We have used Avis a couple of times - never had a problem and both times had really nice cars.

We have used Avis - on that occasion we upgraded our car as there were hardly any to choose from but no problems.

does avis let you pick your own car?
alamo does and i really like being able to do that...

one question - does the avis rate include all the insurance?
just to be sure you're comparing apples to apples, as the alamo brit rate does include all insurance..

they told me it did but I must confess I have learnt not to trust agents know what they are talking about. the confirmation isn't 100% clear so will double check
