OK, I was in the book store last week and found a book that I thought was interesting. I jotted down the title and cannot find it now. I went back to the book store to look for it and they moved it off the table it was on! Yikes!

Anyway ... the premise of the book is about a book collector who comes across and reads a book. He does some research and finds that all the copies of the book have been destroyed ... and he has what appears to be the only copy. B/c of this, he looks into the history of the book and therein lies the mystery of why all other copies of this book have been destroyed.

From what I recall, it's new in paperback and the cover is a very dark brown cover.

Does this sound remotely familiar to anyone!? I'd appreciate any/all help. The bookstore people had no idea what book I was talking about!

Thanks!

Hmmmm, might it be "The Sign of the Book" by John Dunning? Try looking it up on Amazon and you can see the cover...not really dark brown, but maybe??
