Today I was at the salon. I’ll admit it has been awhile. My SIL usually does my hair, and does it well. My nephew was hospitalized with myo-pericarditis for a week. I did not want to even ask.

Moving along, I asked for my roots, which ended up being more than as they were a bit more than grown out ,, she suggested a gloss to tone down the brightness of the rest, and cut and blow dry.

I am sitting there thinking, this is gonna be hmmm 150, no, 170. Then thinking it can’t be, that’s too much, but it was a lot of work, and I loved my hair. Final tally, 140.75$ is this high, low, average in your neck of the woods?

I did tip, and I tipped well. I had never heard of this place or gone there, but everyone is now raving about it, I’ll be going back,

My mom pays around $60-$80 for a color and cut. But she lives in the suburbs not a city, so maybe it’s less for her just because of location? :confused3 Hope your nephew is doing well.:thumbsup2

Awhile back I went to getting my hair cut once a month at Great Clips and box colouring it immediately after. Total cost - about $40 including tip on the cut. In addition to the expense, I simply cannot stand sitting in the salon for the hours it seems to take to get a colour and cut. The stylist I used to go to would be working two or three customers at a time and it was torture. I've got lots of friends and family that do get the works at a salon and the cost is about what you spent, maybe a little more. :goodvibes

That’s about the low end average where I live. I just spent $215 (including tip) on similar services.

I live in the suburbs! Lol. But the suburbs of Montreal, go downtown there, uh uh , not happening. I used to, in my single days.

Thank you for the well wishes. The poor thing, it was after his second vaccine and the Government now has him registered as one of 6. It was quite scary, his levels. Thankfully he is 12, aNd young and athletic. It’s more the no contact sports for a month. 👎

Interesting. My girlfriend face-timed me to check it out, lol. And we went through the “so how much do you think it cost” 😭. She said right of the bat 220? Then 240? . She is up North in St. Sauveur, and EVERYTHING is more in the ski touristic areas.

I know, I despise it. I am antsy and feel like I could be doing so many things, I just wanted a new fresh start. Have to be honest, this girl was only focused on me, she even washed/rinsed it. 😯
I have good intentions of going every 4-6 weeks for the roots, but I also have 4-6 boxes of dye here. 🤫

Ah, I don't blame you; fresh new look for your fresh start! I'd probably do the same (if I had another fresh start in me  ). I hope the TLC made you feel like a million and that everything goes great on Monday. :grouphug:

I know this is a difficult week for you. Grace and peace. :flower3:

I think I paid $70 last month for a cut and color, this doesn't include tip. I've been going to the same person for 30 years so she charges me different. I have no idea how much she usually charges. She does my eyebrows every visit for free. I only get my hair colored at the salon about twice a year, the rest of the year I do it myself at home. I don't mind the time it takes, usually out of there in 90 minutes, I just people watch and chill.

A friend of mine pays $90 for all of that. I only get my hair trimmed every couple of months so I only pay $30

Average for me in upstate NY. I have long and thick hair. For a full foil and cut it’s $160+tip. For a partial and cut it‘s $115+tip. To be honest I think I‘m getting a deal because it takes 2-4 hours to foil and process me 🤦🏻‍♀️.

AND I don’t get it blown out or styled… I go home and do it myself.

I pay $75 every 6 weeks for foiled highlights and a cut, when I need it. I give a $20 tip.

It only takes an hour. She puts on the darker color first at the roots and then foils the lighter color. It looks great and I get compliments on my hair.

I live near Scranton, PA.
