How much sleep would you say you get or need during your stay. There's so much to do after the parks close but then I want to get up and catch the first bus out.

Interesting question. I had a hard time sleeping while I was there...the room/bed was great but I was always so darned excited :Pinkbounc about the next days plans. I went to bed around 11:00 each night and got up at 6:00 and was very blurry eyed, even though that is how I do it at home. I think the excitement plus walking exhausted me. Our children (16, 6, 4) Each turned in around 9 - 10 and when we woke them between 6:30 and 7 it was very difficult. However, I expected that since they go to be around 8:30 at home. But they too were exceedingly tired. If we would have had more time (we were only there 5 days) I would have built in a day or two of sleeping in.

Have fun planning

We usually pick two days to do extra magic hour and the rest of the time get up at around 7 and head out by 8. When we go with the kids we head back to the room at around 9:30, when Epcot closes, and fall asleep around 11 (the kids of course zonk out right away). Then we get about 8 hours of sleep. But when we go without the kids we stay up until around 1:30 or 2 in PI and then we NEVER do extra magic hour, and sleep until 9, heading to the parks around 10. We've found that we need to stick with a minimum of 7 hours to recover from the day! We are a family of sleepers though, so I am sure there are many that do it with 4-5 hours of sleep. Actually when we were younger we would have been those people! Ahhh- getting old sucks!

Depends if I stay out of the ESPN club or not!!;) We always seem to go to bed around 11:00 or so and get up around 7:30 or so. If we all oversleep it's all right. We are on vacation and have a bunch of trips under our belt. It seems the only rush is when we have a PS for breakfast somewhere.

Im someone who usually needs 8 hours or more of sleep a night, however, when Im at WDW I find myself waking up and jumping out of bed well before the Mickey wake up call comes in. And Im also going to bed later than usual. Somehow I get extra energy on vacation...must be all the extra food I eat. ;)

Hi! Our family seems to go on less sleep, too, while at WDW. Our DC (7, 8,9) are in bed by 9 PM each nite at home, but at WDW are usually up till 10 or 11 each nite. We're always up by 7 and out the door by 8 or 9. We always laugh because we say we need a vacation from our vacation. But, we're so excited, we just can't stand to waste any time sleeping in.

We're hoping to not feel as rushed on our Spring Break Trip this year. We'll be walking distance to Epcot & MGM (thus won't have to get to the bus stop early) and will probably not attempt any EMHs. Well, at least that's what we say now, ha!

on our laqst trip, we used to go to bed at 11 or later then get up at about 9 - 9.30 get to the parks by about 11.

SLEEP - we don't need no stinkin' sleep! We're at Disney - we have pixie dust to keep us Wide:hyper: Awake. And if "that" doesn't work - there's always coffee and if that doesn't work there's always "coffee-in-a-can" of Jolt or Mountain Dew!

Seriously though, I only sleep about 4-5 hours when I'm home - so I guess that's all I'll sleep at WDW.

That's a week you know, not a night. :earseek: :teeth:

On our last trip, we often went to bed about 9PM and got up about 6AM or earlier. My husband and I usually went for a run or walk (3-6 miles) each morning before we headed to the parks.

I just don't like to get up early every day of our vacation & I refuse to get up before 7 a.m. while on vacation.

At this point we've been there numerous times so I don't worry about what time we get up unless we really want to get to the parks early, then again, no earlier than 7.

We usually turn in sometime between 11 - 12 at night.

When at Disney we always go to sleep late and wake up early. DH hates my camando style and wants to sleep in. I try to let him but as I lay there in bed awake I just cant stand the fact that we are going to "miss" something. We usually get about 6 hours.

We all crash by 9:45-10:00pm or so and then up around 6:15am - we like to start early

We like to start early to beat the crowds, but it's really hard because we're used to the Mountain time zone - that two hours makes a big difference.

We do like the advantage of going back to the resort when staying on-site.

We usually fall asleep within an hour of returning to the room at night though - quick showers for each of us and then we all just drop (after I update my Passporter pockets!) We usually end up with 7-8 hours per night. If it is a really late night (E-night, MNSSHP, etc) then it's a sleep in morning!

At home, I usually sleep about 7-8 hours, and DH, who I believe to be part grizzly bear, will sleep 11-12 hours if he can get away with it. ;)

However, at Disney, we are totally different creatures. We are up to catch the first bus to the parks, and get back on the last bus of the night. On our December trip, I think we slept about 6 hours per night. Somehow, we weren't tired, until the last day when it finally caught up with us.

We needed a vacation to recover from our vacation once we got home!

we usually are in bed by 10 or 11 and up by 6 but we pretty much do what ever we feel like doing...One night I fell a sleep at 9! the first couple days we do things commando then the rest leisurely...once we've see most of the parks we go back and hit the high points or what we missed, then we might stay out later and get up later, no set schedule.

This made me laugh because it's almost exactly what I've got planned. My girlfriend and I will be visiting Disney World for 4 days, and we basically plan on not sleeping, and doing as much as we can. Then we're heading to my grandfather's place for a week, where hopefully, we can recover (while sitting by the beach, of course:D ).

We used to get up with the first ray of sunlight, get ready, and hit the parks for all day touring! Now, we know that we're going to be back and WDW again and again, so we've decided to take things a little slower on our last few trips. We still get up around 7 or so, take our time getting ready, and usually enter a park by 9. We do stay in the parks all day, and rarely take mid day break back at our resort. Generally I think we get to bed between 9 and 11--depending on whether or not we watch IllumiNations! We do come home from our vacation pretty tired though!;)

I keep telling myself this is a vacation, but we are usually up by 6am (loved watching the animals at AKL), and return to the room about 10pm (unless we go to PI - three visits last trip) and are in bed around 11:30pm. So I guess we get about 6 hours, although it does seem that at the mid point of our trip we turn in early one evening about 9:30pm (I guess you hit the wall eventually).

We must be lazy! We go to sleep around 11pm and get up around 8am. We are out the door by 10am or so. We are in no big hurry because we are on vacation. One trip I made PSs for all character breakfasts. By day 3 I canceled the rest because we couldn't deal with getting up so early and rushing somewhere to eat. Now we get up and go to Kona's at our leisure before heading out.

On my senior trip back in August 2001, we would usually get to bed around 12:30, and be up and ready to go the next day by 7:30. It didn't really catch up to me until I got home!
