This is our second cruise so I have the first one to go by, but curious as to how much money total ballpark/average you think most people spend on FE gifts for one group (knowing some people participate in more than one group). Guessing since it has been a couple of years for us, but think I probably spent $15-20 per cabin total last time (handmade one nice gift per person).

Thoughts?

I spent between $2-$5 per person. My gift for the kids cost $2 each. My gift for adults was $5 each.

I was in the $2ish per person range, but there were over 50 people in my FE group :)

I would say we spent $20 average on each cabin, some where less somewhere more. If there were kids in the cabin it was way more. This was our first FE and we went a tad overboard.

I think it depends on the person and the group and the length of the cruise. 4 night Bahamian cruise was less than my 7 night Alaskan cruise. Both were 10 staterooms. I think I spent $50 on the first cruise and about $100 on the second cruise. Also depends if you plan to gift everyday or just a few special days during the cruise. My advice: do what makes you comfortable and happy. No peer pressure!

I spent about $2/cabin but that was for raw materials, then I spent hours and hours and hours actually making my gifts so I felt that factored in. As far as gifts I received, there was everything from very simple (but useful) gifts for under $1 to other bigger gifts that probably cost $10-$15 (cabin gifts, not per person). We had a pretty big Facebook group for our FE and we broke it up every ten cabins and I think there were 10 or 11 groups? I was in two of them. It was our first cruise and I was not really sure what to expect and hubby was completely against spending money on gifts for strangers. But then he saw all the gifts we received from the other people and said "next time we'll have to step up our game a little".

Most people in our group only did gifts once. I think that was what we all agreed on. A few people did a "welcome" gift and a "goodbye" gift. My favorite gift was delivered the night before Castaway and it was all things to make our day on the island even better (towel clips to hold our towels to the chair, a sign that said our names that was made to hang from the umbrella to claim our spot, etc). I am totally stealing that next time.

Oh! My other favorite gift was candy from other countries. So if you aren't in the US, for REAL you don't need to do anything fancy. Just buy candy we can't get here and make us all happy! :) I discovered an addiction to CurlyWurly and now I'm sad because I ate them all! :)

This is no lie. I can't say this enough. Even if you give candy native to your state, (Someone gave us Moon Pies once. I know they aren't candy.;) ) you will be our BFF. We have so much fun trying new things.

Wow! I have only participated in Candy Exchanges and pin exchanges,

Candy exchange is usually around $5 each cabin, the pin exchange in which we agreed to 3 new pins each was more, but the other pin exchange was 2 new or nearly new pins.

In our last Candy Exchange one participant surprised everyone with something every day! What a wonderful surprise that was!

We used to deliver each day, now we combine everything into one gift pack for each cabin. We spend about $20 per cabin....whether if it's individual gifts or one cabin gift. We generally try to send something to everyone in our cruise group.

Our first cruise I didn't tally it up but I think I spent about $100-$125 total.

This cruise coming up I've already spent $170 and I'm not done yet.
