Average duration of a Buc-ees stop?

Be careful! It is more likely to hook you in than getting over the fascination. :)

It is a pretty amazing place if it weren't for the 1000 other people checking it out.

When I had my dually and 5er, I had 98 gallon capacity with the auxiliary tank. The MH has 100. The Fort is almost exactly 1000 miles and GSP is 750. At 7mpg in the MH, I am still stopping somewhere each way. I prefer 8-9 hour days, but I often drive straight through coming home from the Fort and GSP. Depending on traffic, the Fort is usually around 16-17 hours.

I got used to driving long hauls when I raced sports cars. Those were typically get going and only stop for fuel until you get there. We were based out of the St Louis area and raced from Utah to Virginia and Wisconsin to Alabama.

I can drive my car to WDW from Athens, GA and go to the parks right when I get there and be fine (it's about a 7 1/2 hour drive). The truck can make it all the way down with no fill ups, however, the truck beats me up pretty bad so really 5 hours is my max. I can do 6 but I'm in a lot of pain if we do. That is even with one stop to walk around half way through. When we go anywhere in Florida from home with the RV, we always make one rest stop to pee and walk around then do an overnight stop as well. It's during that overnight we fill up the truck since it's unhooked. For WDW we tend to stop at a Walmart just before we get on the interstate in Macon, that's about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive. Then we stop overnight at Eagles Roost which is just north of the Florida/Georgia line. We stop one time at a rest stop in Florida before hitting the Fort. We always travel with our yorkie, who is 11 years old and needs a walk around about every 2 to 2 1/2 hours, like me she has bad hips and knees.

sweet maxine, never fear, you cannot hold up the line while deciding on a sandwich. They are constantly being made and very easy to grab - or make decisions as you desire.
Depending on the day of week and location, it will vary in how busy they are.
We have been stopping for gas there on our travels since they opened in the east - their gas is usually cheapest.

We tow with a motorhome and have not had any issues getting in and out. We've always found a parking place for our rig out of the way after pumping gas - sometimes with a little hike but that is always beneficial to us after riding awhile. You will definitely have no problems with a car. DH always has to get his pina colada Icee and I make a quick circuit in local gifts, other than that with their high prices in general and type of merchandise, we are not that interested, so our stops are usually 15min. plus gas. Their sandwiches look great but never seem to coincide with our mealtimes.

Definitely stop and check out their clean, spacious restrooms - the best we've ever seen even though we have no need for them.

Have a great trip to the Fort!

Pina colada icee sounds interesting. I need to do some research... :rotfl: I think I've decided that however long the stop becomes, it just is what it is. I'm seeing it as a part of the whole road trip to the fort experience.

I have been to the locations in Richmond KY and Fort Valley GA. Just a regular car, and never encountered any parking issues over maybe half a dozen visits. I do take a look at many of the wares on offer so it comes out to around 45 minutes or so.

Yes not a problem but you might have to park out by the car wash line. WAAAAY out from the main store.
This is about what I'm anticipating the circumstances will be when I get there. Oh well, I need the exercise and fresh air after being cooped up in the car for several hours.
