Avengers Campus Superthread – Opening June 4, 2021!

I was thinking the same thing. It seems like what is happening at AC is exactly what they planned for two years ago at SWGE. It seemed like it was only a few days(?) before they ditched the BG system for entry into the land after their reservation system went away. Could be fuzzy memory.

I wonder why that is? Is Marvel just more popular than Star Wars these days? Are people just way more starved for entertainment after a year+ of lockdown? Maybe a little of column A and a little of column B?

Because AC is a much smaller area than GE plus Disney hyped GE and mentioned how crowded they expected it to be and scared people away, double plus the main attraction was not ready at opening.

We got a boarding group! I talked to a very nice CM at guest services who remembered us from earlier because her and my daughter share the same name. She had no clue what happened, but took some time to figure out how to add us to a boarding group. She had never done it before but was thankfully successful! We have a couple of hours, so we are waiting for our food at Craftsman Grill and hoping it will be our turn to go into the pool. Then we will head into DCA!

The kick was mild, so I wouldn't consider it spicy. If you can handle other heavily-spiced dishes like mild curry (i.e. use a lot of spices but aren't necessarily hot), I think you'll be fine. Also, the sauce came on the side by default for both wraps. I also didn't get much garlic at all from the spread. It was more yogurt and tomato than anything else.

IF you do mobile order at Pym's kitchen, I know that doesn't grant you access to the land.

There's no workaround? Do you just have to kiss your food and money goodbye if you make a mobile order and the line to get into the land is too long or closed?

Also, is there any way to check out long the line to get into Avengers Campus is on the app, like the usual standby lines for rides?

That would be ENORMOUSLY helpful, but it seems like you're in the dark.

You don’t actually pay for your mobile order until you press the I’m here button.

There is no way to check from the app but the cms should be able togive you an estimate.

It has changed from day one to day two so they seem to be adjusting and working out the kinks hopefully. Day one they started the day opening all mobile orders for the day and then not letting people in for the food but they switched that up as the day went on and those who had mobile orders were allowed in. Today they seem to be opening mobile ordering in chunks for so you have to keep checking back but I don’t know if they are letting people into AC with that. My app says I can only order from pyms if I am actually in AC and I have not seen any return times at all today but have seen reports that is was different for other so maybe I am just looking at the wrong time.

The line to get into ac stretches through the WOC viewing area and possibly beyond. I haven’t gone to th end of it.

I hadn’t considered the smaller area. However, the main attraction part could be a bit of wash. From all accounts, the WEB slingers ride is pretty comparable to MFSR which was open. There is supposedly another major attraction coming to AC but maybe because it is much further out than Rise was from SWGE’s opening, you are right it caused people to wait.

Anyway, great points and good food for thought.

I don’t think they’ve broken ground yet on phase 2 which is the other attraction.

Not exactly. You could order they just wouldn’t let you inside if you did. You also got a lot more warning messages telling you to wait till you were in the land to order.

yeah, I checked from home and got all the way to checkout for stuff at Pym's Test Kitchen after bypassing those warning messages. seemed more visible today for sure

Also, Column C - SW:GE opened without its headliner attraction, which may have reduced demand.

I am still really confused about how ordering from Pym's test kitchen works. I tried multiple times today and couldn't find any availability. When do the mobile ordering times open up? We are going in a few days and were really hoping to eat there. Thanks!
