Anyone know when these will open? I have read so many articles on the openings, I am getting them confused.

Pandora is advertised as opening Summer 2017. Rivers of light last official disney word was 2017. neither has a specific date announced at this time.

Note they didn't say opening for summer 2017, just opening summer 2017 summer season ends with labor day.

For now, not sure if it's because of the holidays, they even stopped the previews for the cast members. It really could be anytime from summer to the end of the year, knowing Disney.

Avatar will be Summer, ROL is still interesting. From what Ive seen the technical aspects of the show are fixed and fully functional. Problem is the Big Wigs didn't like the show when they saw and want the team to "Plus" it up some. I agree with the other comments that no one really knows right now when that will be.

For what it's worth AK just started selling Rivers of Lights merchandise. I've seen a little glow wand with animal heads on it. So it might mean that it's finally debuting soon

If it's like a wand with a tiger on the end that lights up they have been selling those since earlier last year, same as the popcorn bucket lotus flower

And there's a Photopass border for it, which is really annoying every time I see it while editing photos, since we didn't get to see it in November. Bleh.

I have been around ever so much longer than RoL.

I know but Disney has announced Summer for Avatar and I see no reason to believe it will not open in that time frame. I personally believe it will open in the early part of summer. The rides are already in testing phases and the exterior of the land is only months out. We could see Softs as early as May.

I think you're too young to remember when Test Track was supposed to open then. It was supposed to be open for my trip in November '97, then for my trip in December '98, and was finally open for my trip in October '99.

Just because I'm young doesn't mean I don't know about it.

Another thing with new technology that was difficult to figure out. We all survived and moved on. Until a delay actually happens I don't see a reason to believe there will be one.

My understanding is that after they removed some of the smaller rafts for technological reasons the choreography no longer makes sense so they basically have to start from almost scratch. My suspicion is Avatar will open late summer and RoL will open closer to the holiday season but that is just my attempt to throw a dart at the calendar. I do believe even Iger doesn't know when it will open yet because they don't know when the revamp will be show ready.

Once I see the CM block out date, blocking dates for AK main entrance pass use is when we will have a better idea when it's opening. They did last year for the presumptive April dates and once it was no longer opening they opened those dates back up. Everyone can access that calendar. https://blockoutdates.disney.com/app/#/

On the left you see the different types of tickets that CM have, basically a CM can enter any park any day with his/hers employee self admission
Main entrance pass is what they have to give to friends and family, CM has to be there when they enter (or at least that's the rule) hard tickets that are reusable to the CM, they only get about 12 to 18 entrances out of these (each entrance is valid for all 3 or whatever number they have)
One Day park hoppers are tickets they can print out and give to family and friends and the CM does not have to be there when they enter, they only get these a couple of times a year.
Family Celebration are additional tickets given during the holidays (usually usable Nov.Dec. Jan)
So right now you see April 12 and 13 are yellow, when you click on those days you see that the Main entrance pass is blocked out so the CM can enter with their own pass but cannot use the friend/family passes.
Basically look for any yellow dates click on them and see which tickets will be allowed and which will not
Last year the April dates were blocked out for CM for the time that RoL was supposed to open, for 2 weeks. I believe as soon as they have an opening date we will see yellow start to pop up on this calendar, same for Pandora
