Avatar land is making progress

Thanks! That's neat to see. I love to see things as they develop. Would be neat to see aerials of DTD before/after style as it transforms to Disney Springs.

I believe AVATAR land is a good fit for Animal Kingdom......they are really making progress. This may be the first project Disney can actually finish on time!!!!!

What wasn't finished on time? I've heard a lot of people complain about projects taking longer than they personally wanted them to but Disney seems to have a pretty good track record of opening things when they say they're going to.

Am I the only one who sees the irony of the land-leveling for the pro-conservation Avatar Land? :lmao:

Oh my, what a NEAT NEAT picture! Except PLLEEEEAASSEEE NOT ANOTHER BOAT RIDE.....

With the incredible aerial sequences in the movie, they have GOT to give us an upside flying ride! Something fast and gorgeous in that beautiful imaginary land! As a second option to the flying sequences, the 'horse' like creatures would be fun too! (Maybe something like Dinosaur morphed into Avatar theme?)

And everything should be HUUGGGE since we aren't typically over 10 ft tall. How bout some of those big'uns animals too! How about interactive trees that talk to you when you touch them?

But I'm happy-ish so far! I will be back when Avatar opens for sure.

Any possible opening date? (we are going next June) wonder if anything will be open.....(if they open in stages)

OK, Mr. Lawyer!!!! :worried: I was wrong....but- sometimes it just feels like it takes a long time for Disney to build new stuff. I admit to getting a little anxious..... so sue me!! :rotfl:

Highly doubt that early 2017 is projected date June 2015 would be a very long shot for any soft opening anything IMHO

You didn't get the memo? Humans can now do a better job than nature....

When you visited the Rocky Mountains last summer you didn't think they were real did you? Sorry its a hologram they took the rocks for the floating mountains at Disney :3dglasses

I'm pretty sure they can't open it until 2017 as per the agreement with James Cameron. They want it open in between 2 and 3 as it will incorporate alot of 2 and some of 3.

They are slower than some others, BUT at the same time they don't need a new construction to keep growing like crazy. The other company you might think of needs to build new stuff like crazy to grow its footprint to support a crowd closer to Disney's size as well as increase the amount of people who want to go there as well.

I myself just added 2 days at the other place because we might not be back for 3-4 years and I wanted to see the little wizards place.

Oh- I completely agree.....and I am very impressed with Disney's park attendance going up by 6%!!! Now- I thought that Disney was supposed to be in this deep peril that was being touted about around here as the gospel truth!! But- turns out they're not!!!! Universal is trying their best but they still have a long way to go----but at least they're trying and they have been quite successful at it. There's no denying that!!

As already pointed out, attendance at Magic Kingdom has gone up by 6%.
