All about it can say is after riding it as a Fast Pass the 9 year old begged me to go back after dinner and ride it on Stand By and she had never asked to do this before, On Stand By at close we waited 45 minutes. Totally worth it.

This brings up a question: is it possible to head that way after Rivers of Light and queue up stand by or is it too late?

You can get in line up to one minute before park closing.

We went during Jersey Week and wanted to get in line at closing but when I checked the TP app it was still at about 120 minute wait with the sign stating 180 minutes. Since we had FP for two separate days we just headed out.

I love this ride, I wouldnt wait more than 40 min for it but thats our rule on any ride.. It is pretty awesome tho..

You should be able to but I have never tried to get there after River Of Light.

That depends on what time Rivers of Light is offered and what time park closing is. One time we were there and still had 30 minutes to get on rides after ROL. Another time, ROL ended after park closing. Both times, I fervently wished we could just skip ROL and go on rides instead because I found ROL to be unwatchably dull, but the first time I didn't know better and the second time, I was traveling with a family member who hadn't gone before so. My advice would be to get in line during ROL while everyone else is stuck in the auditorium of dullness.

After it first opened, my DGD (then 9) and I only had one Disney day together. We did 4 parks/1 day and started with EMH. With no FP, we got in line at FOP at the end of a 14 hour day in the parks. We waited 75 minutes. After we got off she exclaimed "GRAMMY! IT was worth every minute!!!" That said, I am not willing to wait 3 hours.

My favorite ride, 2nd only to FJ at Universal.
I have waited 2 hours in the line, in order to see the entire queue. At park closing so didn't waste time doing anything.
We otherwise ride with a FP any opportunity we can.

What is FJ?

It is awesome, you really feel like you are flying.

FJ = Forbidden Journey (Universal - Harry Potter)

Definitely wouldn't wait 3 hours for it or for any other ride. But FOP is the best ride at Disney, at least for right now anyways.

We waited for 2 hours and it was definitely worth it. One member of our party didnt like it because of motion sickness.

We went to AK late in the morning on 7/16/19 and were planning on doing FOP last thing. During the day Everest, and Kali were down due to lightning which seemed to mess with FP later in the day. We weren’t able to pick up any FP after 5pm that day.

We were tired from flying in early in the morning and decided to get in line for FOP around 7:30pm and the wait time was 183 minutes. I was hoping it was wrong. While waiting we found out that one theater was down due to a protein spill and wouldn’t reopen. There were also a few tour groups in the queue. We ended up waiting 2 hours and were out by around 9:30pm. The ride was well worth the wait.

I was a little disappointed in Pandora at night. It didn't really take my breathe away. Maybe I was too tired or didn't spend enough time looking around.

Mine Train still has a mob at RD.
It does, but I haven't had any trouble getting on it within maybe 15-20 minutes max, usually less, with only arriving 15 minutes before park open. The mob isn't quite to the level of the other 2 rides.

Wow, great replies and see it is overwhelming a great attraction, as I have read about the queue line being a part of the overall attraction and how Pandora changes during the night. I have not yet seen the movie, not even 2 mins worth, just never fancied my attention and still does not. For our Aug trip this year I was able to score FP+ on both of our AK days for FoP and just was wondering if it was worth the time as we love AK, by far our favorite park in Disney, so looking forward to it!!
You’d get more out of two hours standing in line than two hours of that movie. (You ride a blue thing and pretty stuff glows—there, you’re caught up!). I hated the movie and my kids have not re-watched it once, but we still waited 90 minutes to ride it three different times in one day. It’s a great ride.

I wouldn't wait 3 hours but it's worth ripe dropping for sure.
When we were on it for the second time everyone clapped after it finished!

Will it change your life? No.
Is it worth the effort? Definitely!

I am doing it and have fast passes for it but honestly what makes me worried is that there is a bunch of people who love Soarin as well and I think that ride is pretty meh.

Hoping for the best when I go.

It is probably one of my absolute favorite rides in all of WDW. It is actually the only ride I am willing to wait in a long line for. It made me cry the first time I rode it because I loved it so much!

I am a jaded local and never wait in lines. But my out of town friend wanted to do FoP so we waited two hours. It changed my life.

It's all that and a bag of chips!

Our trips have been made around FoP FP, we can't survive the standby with 2 young kids but it's an amazing experience.
