Anyone know if there's any availability anywhere on Dec 30th and 31st? I know... long shot...but figured I'd ask!:thumbsup2

Really? I had no idea...wasn't looking for someone to call DVC...LOL, I could do that myself. I was just wondering if there was a known "yup, all sold out" before I spent 15 mins on hold with MS. OK, no big deal...thanks!

Since you are a member, don't you have access to DVCMember.com? You could check the on-line booking tool on the member website yourself.

It's because the info given could change completely half a second after being given. it's utterly useless since we all have access to online booking now. Someone could book thigs that were available or someone could cancel 10 rooms all at once. And the person giving you the info just did what all members, including you, can do.

I assumed you weren't a member since you were within the 7 month window and could look online yourself. No need to call, just check the website.

Its been awhile since I've booked... never did so online thru DVC member website and had no idea they showed availability on there...nice update!

Went to dvcmember.com and found no availabilty so I called MS. Got my unavailable night on a Cash Ressie and the remainder of my trip is available! WOOHOO!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Now to update my signature... NYE here we come :thumbsup2

I went online and checked availability for my entire stay... only one night was sold out. So I called DVC to book trip and get sold out night on cash. MS stated 3 nights (!!) of my trip were booked solid. She asked me how I knew they weren't...and I told her I was on dvcmember website. She stated that me "viewing" but not yet booking that ressie could be why it's showing sold out. She had be back out of dvcmember booking and logoff...and POOF! the sold out nights reappeared in her system. So, when "checking" your availability...they really are holding that reservation while your screen is open... so remember that when you call. Logout first...LOL!:thumbsup2

Or don't ...

I've intentionally used that trick of "holding" the nights with my browser while phoning MS to complete the transaction. (This was in the situation where I wanted to use One-Time-Use points and the reservation had to be conducted via phone.) If you logout before phoning the nights are released back to the system and anyone could grab them before you reach MS. Just keep the timing in mind.

Yep...I did that on a last minute trip in April before a cruise. No availability when I first started looking. I had to call to cancel a few nights I had booked at the 11 month mark for early December, but now wasn't going to use all the days. I had no points to book the room online, so I "held" the room for almost 40 minutes before I had a chance to call.

What did members do before iPads and Internet booking? I would feel so in the dark!

Just a reminder that the DIS policy is that availability requests (and responses) for specific dates are not allowed.

General availability questions (How is availability at: "SSR during winter months", "HH in the summer", "BCV during F&W") are welcome on the DVC Member Services Forum, but specific questions ("Will I be able to get a reservation at BCV in a Studio for December 2-7 , 2013") are not allowed. The reason is as suggested in this thread - availability can change between the time someone checks online or with MS and posts the information in the thread and is not really valid.

Thanks for your future cooperation.
