availability poss. at GCV in late August?

How easy/difficult (at 7 month window) is it to get a few nights at GCV the last 2 weeks in August, either Studio or 1BR? We're planning a trip out to CA and it includes plans to use some points for a stay there.

Since GCV is the smallest of all the DVC resorts it can be tricky... but it can be done.

Be ready to hit the reserve button for online reservation right when your 7 month online window opens. Keep in mind its harder to get weekends, and studios are often the hardest category to book.

August usually isn't the hardest time... as long as its not during a Run Disney event or some other special high demand event. So if you have some flex in your dates or room category that helps.

We have a 10 day stay to work with and only want a few days so hopefully, we'll be able to nab something.

We just booked the GCV for 7 nights in a studio for May. I was able to rent points and booked the reservation exactly at our 7 month mark. Even at 7 months we couldn't get the first night of our trip. By the end of the day I was told that 3 of our days were no longer available. I was so happy my acquaintance booked it when he did!! I think if you book right at your 7 month window you'll have a good chance of getting what you want.

The VERY popular DL 1/2 marathon, 10K, 5K and Dumbo Double Dare are the last weekend in August (right before Labor Day). I've already booked my reservation for the days around the event, and have read on other threads of other VGC owners who have done the same.

You might be able to get something at 7 months, it might depend on what room types are still available (1 bedrooms seem to go last).

And since the races now start on Saturday, I think the "weekend" has expanded into Thursday as people, like I did this year and for next, are booking a day or two early because of the expo, which was madness this year.
