Availability for week of July 4th

This is my first post, but I have been here many times gathering information.

Our first experience with DVC was in Feb. of this year. We rented points for BWV from a friend. We purshased DVC within the month, and closed the end of June. We have already completed our first stay using our own points. We spent 5 days at VB in early July. I'm not much of a beach bum, but we had a great time. We will be doing that again in the future.

Now I am planning the our next trip. My family is planning on spending July 4 - July 10, 2005 in a 2 bedroom at SSR (home resort). What is the availablity usually like for the fourth? I was not planning on booking day by day, but should I?

Welcome to the Dis Boards (as a poster).

Since you will be calling at 11 months you will be fine. You shouldn't have to call day by day but do it if it would make you feel more comfortable but you shouldn't have to.

one stop shopping on this one....even if you dont get what you want right away, make an alternate ressie and wait ,list for what you want....chances are good that your wait list will come through without you having to lift a finger

you can generally get July 4 in May - so at 11th month you should be fine.

I am sure you don't have to be told this, but you must know the 4th of July week is about the busiest week down there next to Christmas Week. The parks are over-crowded. As for DVC they should not be, I doubt you will have any problem getting anything you want for that week at 11 months out.

Thanks. I did not think I would need to go day by day, but I knew that the experts could give me a better idea.

I know this will be a busy week at the parks. But, it is about the only time my family can all get together. Even though I love the parks, I do not plan on spending much, if any, time at the parks on this trip.
