I was just wondering what my odds would be of booking a 1 bedroom or studio at VGC in either early November, early December or anytime in January at the 7th month window. Are there any other times of year that might be easier? Our dates are very flexible.

I just booked for May with no issues (note it was a studio). I think if it isn't a busy time, you should have little trouble.

It varies, but if you go for a 1 bedroom instead of a studio for your time your odds will increase greatly. We usually travel May/June, late Sept-early Dec so I have no clue about January ... but have had trouble adding nights inside of 7 months in Sept, Oct, Dec and have just ended up staying at DLH. Early Nov might not be bad since its shoulder season with no special parties or decorations until shortly before Thanksgiving.
I figured I'd be safe in early June at >7 months as well, just had to change a studio reservation I had from the 1st week of June to the 2nd due to DH's work and found that even though I'm still outside of the 7 month window, studios were gone for the weekend I wanted. One bedrooms were available, but we're trying to do a cheap points weekend so I just wait-listed. Lots of people report wait list success stories on here with VGC. Good luck!

We just returned from a wonderful first time trip to Disneyland Resort. We had a one bedroom unit that I booked at exactly 7 months out for a one week stay. I would say as long as you book the morning your 7 month window opens with flexible dates, you should have no problem.

I recently booked Aulani at 7 months, and decided to ask about booking VGC preceeding the trip to Hawaii. We live in PA so it made sense to combine the two. I was amazed to get a studio reservation at both, especially since the VGC request was a week after the 7 month window opened. My wife and I are ecstatic, as we have never been to Disneyland or Hawaii.

I booked last week for April. Had my choice of studio, 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom. I was quite shocked!

Chose the 1 bedroom.....

Oh, you will love Disneyland! About the same number of rides as all of WDW crammed into the space of DHS!

Don't miss Pirates (twice as long! thrilling drop!), World of Color, Fantasmic! and all the unique things (Toad, Sleeping Beauty walk through, etc.)

I've found that with the VGC that waitlists come through farily well. Many owners live within proximity that they can cancel without airline penalties, so 30 days in advance you might see a cancellation.

I've even had luck with wait lists within 7 days!
