Autopia questions

I will be travelling to Disneyland with a big group of my extended family, but for part of the time I know I will be alone with my 3 and 4 year olds. They are both really excited about Autopia. Although I always used to think that only two people could ride in one car, I think I read a while ago on these boards that one adult and two children can fit? And someone once posted that if you have two children and just one adult, you can ask a CM to ride once with the first child driving, and then go around again so the second child can switch into the driver's seat - is that true?

Also, in general, can one adult and two small children fit together on most rides, especially most Fantasyland rides?

Thanks so much for any help!

Yes, Autopia does have room for an adult and two children. It's nice that they allow the kids to each drive without having you go back through the entire line. Be sure to ask a CM at the loading area how it works.

Most of the rides in FL will accommodate you nicely. Dumbo might be the only one that might be a little snug, if 3 are possible.

Sounds like a fun trip.

Enjoy

I've ridden with three on Peter Pan, the Tea Cups, Alice, Mr. Toad and Dumbo. IASW, the canal boats and Casey Jr. can seat more. I'm not sure about Snow White and Pinocchio but I can't see how it would be a problem.

Yes, you can fit 3. Dumbo can do the 2 kids with you. As far as Pinochio and Snow White, the car has 2 rows, so the kids could sit in the front row and you right behind them, same with Alice in Wonderland. You all could fit in one but it would be tight and you might as well just use both rows.

I tried Dumbo with my wife, my kid, and myself, but it just wasn't going to work out without organs being damaged in the process. I took the kid and my wife went solo.

As for Autopia, it's one big belt leather seat belt. Three across with two small kids is pretty easy. My wife went by herself and I got in with the kid (who can't reach the pedal). I let the kid drive and hit the pedal myself, although using the left foot in the left-hand drive vehicle was a bit awkward (I drive a stick but using the clutch is sporadic). Not a great driver at two, but any kid who can actually steer a real motor vehicle can't stop smiling. I think that was the most fun my kid had at DL.
