Automatic toilets

Ok ladies, this may be a crazy question but does anyone have problems with automatic toilets in public restrooms?? I sometimes do. The darn thing won't flush a lot of times. It gets frustrating. I like it when they also have the button to flush in case the automatic feature doesn't work, but some places don't have that.

Are there any tricks or tips to get the automatic toilet to flush??? I know its all censored but there has got to be a way to get it to flush :confused3.

post it notes...put one over the sensor until you are done and then take the paper off to flush!

I HATE automatic toilets, especially when they flush too soon. Nothing like getting sprayed with toilet water!:scared1: YUCK!

Not to mention that some of them are so loud they practically give you a heart attack!:eek:

For the record, guys can have problems with these as well. ;)

DS hates and fears them. I have to generally stand in the stall and hold my hand over the sensor to stop it going off (because he doesn't trust the post-it notes to stay).

I have noticed on trips to WDW that not all of them are set the same - some are so sensitive that the slightest movement causes them to flush, and others don't seem to go off until you have wandered away, washed your hands, and ridden on Soarin'. (j/k - but some have given me a good half minute of "grace period", so to speak.)

Automatic toilets: Good concept, crappy execution.

They either spray you with water (YUCK) or never flush. I'd rather just use my foot to press a button, kwim? :P

I agree they are a pain. I even try to put my foot over the sensor and that doesn't work! The post it note thing is a funny concept (LOL!)

I generally just leave when I am finished. I figure that if it was "empty" when I went in, it will eventually do it's job and be empty for the next person. Most that I have encountered do have a delay that allows you to be away from the toilet when it flushes, thus keeping you from being sprayed.

Or ones that have such a weak flush that it takes someone THREE flushes to get everything to go down...

Hate when you do the butt wiggle and *FLUSH*.

Shift your body (can also be done with butt wiggle) *FLUSH*

I'd rather just stick with the old fashioned hand flush toilets. And not these crappy "low flow" toilets either. A toilet that gets the job done IN ONE FLUSH.

See that is what I had to do the other day because the stupid toilet would not flush and of course as soon as I left, there was someone waiting to use the stall because the others were filled and my toilet hadn't flushed yet. I was sooo embarrassed. The lady that came after me wasn't too happy because my toilet wasn't flushed yet (sorry) :confused3. I tried everything to get the darn thing to flush but no luck. Fortunately it finally flushed.
